They were referring to the hockey team. It's a sporting event. Is this really that difficult a concept to get hold of?

If this same American hockey team was from Norway (or any other country) instead, would the Canadians still be booing them? I think not. So it has to do with more than just a hockey team.

Sorry, but I just recently stumbled upon this site. I actually plan to spend most of my time in the Bruins forum when all is said and done.

Nice to know you'll still be around when your team loses at the WJHC, though.

This guy obviously cant handle losing! HAHAHA have fun playing for the bronze America while Canada plays for the gold!!! :biglaugh: :yo:

US turns pucks over as much as paris hilton bends over. Oh well thats what we get for not utilizing the entire team..

Sometimes I wonder what Devonator's problem is... constantly thrusting in politics of USA and Canada...

Fans love to root against topdogs. USA has an amazing lineup on paper and were said to be dominant, therefore people cheer for the lesser known Russia team. You can't argue that Russia is the better team over the US.

Broadcasts DO NOT recieve crowdnoise well and it is not an accurate representation of the crowd's noise level.

The crowd is booing Jack Johnson which I think is appropriate if they wish to. Like the Bertuzzi incident, they both took cheapshots and were both booed in game by fans. What's wrong with that? The intent was the same, the results not, but eggs are eggs whether white or painted.

I guess I'm the only one who heard the cheering when Skille made it 2-1. :dunno: This booing/cheering thing is getting blown out of proportion. The fans are boing Johnson but aside from that they're just cheering goals, big hits and good plays. Russia happens to have had a lot more of those than the US in this game.

And the "nah nah nah" song means?.... :dunno:

Now I can understand some U.S. fans being upset at the turn of events. But you can't take that frustration out on us poor Canucks. It's just a sporting event. :)

Haha, I can't handle losing, yet I root for the Boston Red Sox and Bruins. Good call.

The U.S.A. is starting to show some passion, however it is most certainly too little too late.

Nor do the people responsible for the goal horns and music at GM Place. How unusual that, in an international tourney, the host arena choses to use the NHL Team's goal horn to celebrate the goal scoring by one country's team over another?
Not to mention playing celebratory music when one team (Russia) scores over another (USA).
It is one thing to have the fans chose sides and cheer for one international rival over the other, but to have the arena personal actively involved in backing that choice seems to go against the sense of "fair play" so touted by the IIHF.

That has nothing to do with the staff of GM Place. The Russians are the "home team" by virtue of being the #1 seed and therefore earn all the trappings that go with it.

So why don't they boo Downie, who friggin crosschecked a 16 year old in the teeth simply because he dared to argue with him?

Those insecurities will cause sleepless nights.

I hope the Russians finish this game off with class.. unlike last year against the Americans and in previous years.

It's 5-1. No need to showboat. Full marks for the win.

Poor Schneider. Hope this doesn't affect him when he gets back to BC. I'd much rather see him perform well in Hockey East than in the WJC.

5-1 Russia.

This game is getting out of hand like last years Russia vs. U.S.A. game.

Can we make Walt Kyle run back to Michigan along side of the team bus? Maybe he can run the bridges in Saskatoon. Is this guy really the best the US has? Play your team guy.

Ok you guys are gonna lose, but do you have to completely quit?

and these canadian announcers are so giddy.

Jeez, the russians are looking cocky again, celebrating after that 5th goal. I hope we clean their clocks. Too bad we don't have last years team again.
