McGroarty and the states having there way with the Swiss so far. 2 assists for McG. Playing center between Gauthier and Snuggerud. Looking much better today and his line is scoring.

He is more of a play maker then scorer. I think if/when he signs with us he slots in as center or they ease him into that spot but Connor on his wing with a big winger could be something for us

ESV
Connor-McGro-Perfetti
Nino-Lambert-Chib
Barron-Lowry-Apples/Kupari

That's a super solid lineup still under the cap...

I wonder if the Jets might use a late round pick on Canada’s Owen Allard. He’s been passed over in the draft, but the Jets do have a bit of a history of drafting those who have been passed over.

I was wondering why nobody was talking about Rutger McGroarty tonight seeing that it was an 11 goal outburst by team USA.
One assist for Rutger. That’s why.
Getting back up to game speed since his injury is clearly a work in progress. Hard not to be lagging when you haven’t played in like a month.

Hi line was dominate during the game and the IIHF doesn't keep track of scoring very well at this year. I counted 3 assists during the game. He was also playing center and he won a ton of draws several that lead to goals.

I thought he looked very good for a guy out that long.

How did Salomonsson look today?

I only paid attention for about 1.5 periods. He was decent, nothing too bad standing out other than one giveaway. Didn't play on the PP, killed PK well. Nothing that stood out in a particularly bad way. A couple of scary moments and breakways with his pairing on the ice but they were both due to forwards not filling in on the point when he joined the attack or Sandin-Pellika making a chaotic play at the offensive blue line.

Harder tournament to get into this year. With the time zone and the lack of prospects playing I am kind of waiting for the knock out round when the games mean something. Even then this feels like a year when I might take a pass. I have barely watched the NHL this season so just sticking with the trend I guess .

The big problem for the past couple of years in regards to the World Juniors, is that there are no Russians, our traditional rival.

Both of Finland's goals have been on Pettersson/#2 being unable to defend his side of the net while paired with ASP

McG turned it up today starting to get back to full speed. Nice to see him pot 3. If that line gets rolling like it should, US should take gold no problem

Sweden what the hell. Salo has been ok so far. Very physical and safe but the Swedes have some bad defenders out there, ASP is all over the ice.

One thing I've noticed about McGroarty is that he has a very good shot; accurate with a quick and deceptive release. Barlow is the same.

Good scorers / finishers always have high value in the NHL. McGroarty brings a lot more than scoring (very good playmaker), but the scoring dimension makes him a solid prospect for a future top-6 F.
