It does look like he fancies himself being the next "Laine" but without the goalscoring. Getting chances is good though, a period left to turn it around yet...
Tolvanen is already 10x the overall player compared to laine. laine only knows how to shoot.

Replay on Comtois' hit on Heinola shows his elbow hits literally the spot where Heinola's head was right before. That was absolutely a predatory hit with intent to injury, and he succeeded at that. Disgusting.
Or his hands would have hit in the chest and pushed through rather than him adjusting upward to brace against the glass when he realized Heinola has moved. Maybe you are right, but you are just spinning a fiction. Has Comtois had a bunch of his to the head that justify not giving him the benefit off the doubt?

Because he for becks hard and with malice?

What's not to like ( okay the embellishment is what's not to like). But that hit? Fine by me. I wish we would throw more of them.

The Canadian way involves heavy, violent, and clean hits which this was.

More physicality please.

The hit was borderline. Just unfortunate that an injury came of it. The fact is that it looks worst than it was because Comtois is just so much bigger and stronger. Their was no intentional knee or anything

Meh, comtois is a meathead and will continue to do borderline stuff like that and it may get very ugly.

To be fair, they haven't really given Scott much of a chance. Maybe if he played 3 games as well he might have the same stats, you never know.
Canada should play the guy who might do well if he played the games over the guy who is doing well because why exactly? That makes no sense and just seems like pandering towards your team's prospect.

Nobody has really been a standout, so everyone can relax with their hot takes. You can always tell which posters are fans of which team based on their posts.

A guy makes a play that they should make..."Man, *my prospect* has been really good tonight" "Wow, if *other team prospect* was better on that play, that would have been a goal from *my prospect*"

I don't want to call anyone out, but just give it a rest. They've all been meh. DP has been really good, but many goalies have had U20 success and failed to translate that to the NHL.

Comtois throwing lots of dirty hits and diving around like a coward all tournament. Might be the worst excuse for a captain that Canada has ever had.

Prior to the start of the season many in local media were saying they see Dipietro and not Demko as the future started for the Canucks.

Long way away but it’s fun so far to see him doing well.

Driving me crazy that they keep calling him Mikey ...
Yeah, makes me cringe too.

There was at least two other cases late in the period where he clearly raised his elbow when trying to hit a Finnish defender.

We have been outplayed so far and have been bailed out by our goalie .Need a better third .
