How's that not dirty?

He saw the guy avoiding the hit and tried to lean in to get him anyways, but all he could do was to throw the knee out, resulting in knee on knee.

If that hit was against Canada, he'd probably be thrown out of the game for that.

When you're committed to the hit that close in there is no stopping, let alone making a conscious decision to try and hurt a player. If that hit was against Canada the player wouldn't have tried to jump out of the way, he would have stood his ground to make the play and then skated back into the play.

Too many guys on Canada trying to do it all themselves. I'm sure that flies with their junior team where the offense flows through them, but they need to play within the team more here. Can't just hold onto the puck and try and dangle through everyone or pull the same toe drag moves over and over.

It's been awhile since Canada has had goaltending this good. It used to be a common occurrence.

Vancouver has themselves a good prospect in DiPietro.
Prior to the start of the season many in local media were saying they see Dipietro and not Demko as the future started for the Canucks.

Long way away but it’s fun so far to see him doing well.

Driving me crazy that they keep calling him Mikey ...

Replay on Comtois' hit on Heinola shows his elbow hits literally the spot where Heinola's head was right before. That was absolutely a predatory hit with intent to injury, and he succeeded at that. Disgusting.

He was coming in about to lay a shoulder to chest, textbook hit, when the finland player tried ducking out of the way.

Clean play, unfortunate result.

Wow just wow... You are either blinde or have a very hard time to be truthfull... he was not coming in to land a shoulder to chest he was coming in to place an elbow to the head.

So this is the only game not on the nhl network, but it is on espn plus. For the first intermission they didn't come back till 5 min into the second now we have Video of Mckenzie but no sound except for the transition pieces. He's insightful for sure but the shine is lost a little as I don't read lips.

A very bizarre way to watch a game.

Just watched the replay. Comtois doesn't extend his knee. Not sure what you are seeing.
