I predict that Russia will invade Finland before the end of the physical year of 2008.

And Sweden will be right there laughing it up :teach:

Good, actually being there even if still not capable of doing anything useful would be an improvement over 1710-16, 1742 and 1808.

Back on topic, there can never be too many inter-Nordic elimination games, so I'm glad this match-up came to happen. Finland's outlook is good in the sense that the forwards can score and Rask may be in shape to stop pretty much everything, which kinda helps to score more goals than the opponent. The big picture is a whole 'nuther thing, but why worry?

5-3 Sweden.

We have better depth and defense than Finland, and all our of lines has contributed.

Finland might have an edge with more individuals, but i think Sweden still will be stronger.

One goal and two assists for Bäckström and two goals for Bergfors.

I think Korpedo and Tukonen will be too much for Sweden to handle. Despite the crap defense, Finland still has a huge advantage in net with Tuukka Rask. 5-1 Finland.. Sweden just doesn't have Finlands top-end depth this year.

I think Sweden will win this time around, mostly due to the shaky Finnish D. Also, Rask isn't the saviour some people make him out to be. 6-4 Sweden

I don't think that Rask can save this team from the defense. I think we win in net, slight advantage in offense, but lets face it, Sweden has firepower as well, and our D is horrendous. Or at least has been.

5-3 Sweden

4-1 Sweden.

:)

After starting out slowly with 1 goal against Canada, the Finnish offense had 5 vs USA, 9 against Norway and 4 in the Switzerland game. I think if Sweden wants to win this game they will have to score at least four goals (which could well happen with the terrible Finnish d).

The Flaming Sideburns > anybody

;)

Yes, I am biased, as their bass player is a friend of mine from years back.

Regardless, I'm gonna stick with 6-4 Sweden :(

Tight game it will be. Swedes propably outshot us like everyone else and play better hockey, but..

4-3 OT victory for Finns.

Backyard Babies>HIM
Stam1na>Kent
any band>The Rasmus

Anyone got info on Jokinen's absence?

It's his knee.. He has some ligament damage, they'll know more once he has more tests.

Despite outshooting the Finns 39-16, the Swedes will go down against the opportunstic Finnish squad by a final score of 4-0, setting up a rematch of Future Toronto Maple Leafs goalkeepers Tuukka Rask and Justin Pogge. The Canadians will eventually prevail 2-1 in a semifinal shootout victory after heroic performances by both Rask and Pogge. Three years later, Rask and Pogge will share starting goaltender duties with the Toronto Maple Leafs, leading the Leafs to their first Stanley Cup since 1967 :jump: Hey, a guy can dream, can't he?

Go Finland! Finland wins 6-2. This game starts in 2 hours, right?

Tre Kronor måste förlora! Finland ska vinna! ha ha. ;)

No online radio-feed anywhere even if it is a quarter-final? That iihf-thing just blows.

5-4 Sweden in a shootout

Finland leads 4-2 with a minute left.
