Not even close to true. He sucked in preseason. Haley wasn’t even on the team either at that point. Tippett was top 6 or bust for us.

I honestly think part of the adaptation process for Veleno is going to be learning that he has to break the zone himself. If he passes to his linemates on the rush, the puck isn't going to get in the zone.

Quite a love in for just one period of pre-tournament hockey played. I'll join in I guess and say that some of the forwards looked quite solid. Glass, Comtois, Tippett has a very nice snipe, Lafreniere looked smart and was buzzing, Veleno looked like he could be the one to provide a spark for his line. Two of the defencemen looked less than poised with the puck but hopefully that gets ironed out.

the whole idea of a top 6 and bottom 6 is not really relevant in the modern NHL was his point. put the best players in your lineup and go from there. you don't need a bunch of grinders to fill out a bottom 6 anymore

Once again Tippett was awful in preseason. It’s not a hard concept. He didn’t deserve to make the team.

Yeah it is quite a love in, having said that it is better then a moan session due to bad/sloppy play.

He is playing really well but there doesn't seem to much of a need to move him up right now. Every line is basically dominating right now.

He's a smart, hardworking player with great skill, he earns what he gets out there, not afraid to get his nose dirty at all.

I can't give him a much bigger compliment.
