It is pretty wild that the difference between the top league in the world and international hockey is so stark. That is not even a minor penalty in the NHL or really any North American league with checking allowed. IIHF it's 5 and a game lmao

It's only to the head because the German is also falling over. Textbook hit otherwise. But yes, he got the head because the German player's head was chest height. I don't think this was an example of a player running hot or trying to make a dirty play.
All completely irrelevant. It's a head hit. If an accidental high stick is still a penalty then, while unfortunate, it should be a penalty.

Please. A clear hit from behind on Beck was rescinded to no penalty just a couple days ago.
And this is a match penalty in comparison??

It’s not hard to learn the rules before you play. In fact it should be mandatory.
