Celebrini will probably (hopefully) win us this game, and we may squeak past the quarterfinals, but there’s no way this team scores more than two against US or Sweden and they’re not good enough at defending and take too many penalties to hope that would be enough.

Gold would require a genuine miracle.

It genuinely would, it would have to be like the Miracle in Riga 2021, Canada begins the IIHF mens tournament going 0-3 and finish 4th in their group, relying on results of other teams to even make the playoffs, losing games to the likes of Lativa 2-0, US 5-1, Germany 3-1. Barely beating Kazakhstan 4-2, losing 3-2 to the Finns.

That team was like this, very weak on paper compared to previous years, then goes on to beat the Russians 2-1, US 4-2 and Finns 3-2 in what seemed like a miracle to consider how it all began.

One point shot in the entire game and there was zero screen. It’s a joke. The players have to be smarter but there seems to have been zero intervention from the coaches into continuously uninspired play.

I seen 1 shot from the point. Zero Germans or Canadian players in the lane for the shot though. Would of been better to just take the shot from the Canadians own zone.

I mean they brought Dumais, the most productive CHL player in terms of PPG, and he's been pretty mediocre. You can't fill your roster with smaller east west guys who aren't elite skaters, it doesn't always work in this tournament.

I recommend watching PeeWee hockey then. That way you wont have to worry about players getting hit. Hitting is a major part of hockey, and there was nothing wrong with Geekies hit going by the standards of almost every NA hockey games rule books.
