Canada has too many playmakers on first power play. McTavish, Bedard and Johnson all want to hold the puck.

For a team with a lot of skill, this powerplay isn't creative at all. Just relying on perfect shots, no screen in front, no usage of the bumper or down low guys (Stankoven & McTavish).

Definitely a nice play by Latvia and also a nice shot. Still, the Canadians didn't do anything to stop the play, let alone to stop Darzins from cutting to the middle of the ice. Also, the top goalies of this tournament are gonna make that save.

That shot was high blocker under the bar. The great Wallstedt got beat with a wrister under the arm and a wrist shot where he made himself really small.

Cossa also made two critical saves in the 2nd to not go behind.

and as a D man, what were you looking for? Ideally you can gap the puck carrying forward across and let the off d take the other forward but the Latvian ran interference to take that away.. ...you are still left with two one on ones. I've seen much worse.
