So that is all it takes? Good to know.
I don't know, but that's probably fair to say that more times than not, if a player is down and not getting up he's hurt and needs to get off the ice.

Both of these teams will get absolutely destroyed by USA. lol
I'm not so sure. If USA respects their opponent, they should win fairly easily. But if they wait until the 2nd period to start playing, I could see an upset happening. Their first periods haven't been great.

Not playing the winning goalie in an elimination game is such a stupid coaching decision that it almost makes me wish Finland loses this one.

They left it go for 6-8 seconds, what changed?

So at what point should the play be blown down? Players go down all the time with an injury, getting up a few seconds later. So it's not reasonable to stop the play with every player down. 6-8 seconds without a player moving seems like a reasonable amount of time to determine they are actually hurt.

But I'll ask you, what's the timeline that refs should blow the play down when a player is on the ice not moving without the benefit of replay? Please be specific.

Does the winner of this game face the winner of USA vs Latvia?
Reseed, highest ranked from groups stage plays lowest ranked from groupstage making it into semis. So it also depends how other games end. Czech or Swiss win from the other games would make them face USA if Slovakia beats Finland. Otherwise it's the winner of this game facing USA.

Whats really irritating is, that they decided to call a penalty, when clearly they did not intend to do so or they would have blown it down right away as the Fins had posession the whole time.

IIHF is cares more about getting the call right vs seeing it in real time. They don't always get it correct, see the Mitten high stick and the countless boarding calls they've blown, but that is their MO. Call a penalty so they can review and get it correct.

I'm not an IIHF fan, but getting it correct is more important than getting it right in real time.

After seeing the replay I would have given him delay of game to be honest.

Looks like he lost a tooth or 2. I thought he was faking it a bit, but without a pair of pliers to rip the tooth out, seems like a real injury.

Miller-Johnson duo is so much better than this one, mostly because Button is a bozo.

Depends if the ref got a good look at the play. In any case that was a soccer tactic that deserved a delay of game.

Even with a tooth missing, what does staying on the ice do? Can you skate off?
