Canada looks like the faster team to me. I thought the Americans were suppose to be the faster team?

Canada didn't play last night

Just a friendly reminder, this is the game day thread for the Canada/United States game tonight. This is not the place to discuss politics, if you want to discuss politics, you may do so here:

http://hfboards.com/forumdisplay.php?f=77

Anybody who chooses to turn this into a political discussion or flame war runs the risk of getting a 7 point warning for disobeying a mod. This is a big game and there will be alot of emotions, but please think before you type. Happy New Year everyone. :)
Remember fellas this is not suppose to get political. It's a game thread and that's all it is suppose to be.

Now that’s a tough one there!!!! Maybe next time they can run the board with team Bangladesh and hang a banner for best game ever played…

You're right. What were scouts everywhere thinking projectng Kessel goes #1 overall in 06?

Whatever happens tonight, the bogeyman is dead. Canada can play with any team in this tournament. It's going to be a fun week.

Give me your zip code and I will refer you to a specialist. Trust me, I’m a doctor…
Canada wins gold medal and now we have a slumber party? Wow, remind me what Canada won so convincible in nagano? Russian did win Silver and Bronze in two consecutive Olympics.. and let’s not even go in to Juniors…

Salt Lake. World Cups. Canada Cups.

The Ruskies? Well, I'm still waiting. Oh! yeah. A bronze. Or a silver.

We don't want silvers. That's for the Ruskies. We want gold.

Nagano? Misjudgment by Hockey Canada (Corson, Zamuner, and company), nothing else. That, and the best goalie in the world in his prime (Hasek). In the finals, we would have creamed the Ruskies, like we always do. Because they just can't play with pressure.

There were no doubt that they could play against any team, the only concerns we had were "Can they beat the Americans and the Russians?", well it's not proven yet. They jumped to a great start but since the middle of the first, I think the Americans have take over the game. Gotta say that stupid penalties are killing us right now, gotta be a little bit more disciplined! Great game anyway!

You do realize you that Russian are the only team that won 2 medals in past two Olympics coming short by one goal in each of those games? Canada have done squat in 98 and played 2 good periods in 2002 OG… Complete thrashing by Swedes, and barely edging Germans.. Oh ye, the belarus.. WOW !!!! You talk as if Canada dominated everything and everyone. Russians haven’t had a good team because of internal conflicts between coaches, federation and players.. Pick either one. Let’s see this time.. Enough of that crap about team play.. I have been in past two OG and about to go on third one and I have yet to see … Like I said, trust me, I’m a doctor….

OK. We don't agree. Good game anyways. Let's go back to this one first.

I thought Kessel was going to blow by Parent but Parent made a very nice play. WHat a solid defenceman.

I was real impressed with Oshie in the Finland game, he was everywhere, but I haven't noticed him much at all this game. I'm abit surprised.

So youre saying having a night off isn't a advantage?

I love the logic on that one.

In a round robin like this, where each team plays the same teams, in the same amount of days as each other, no. When those nights off are, unless distributed unevenly, is irrelevant.
