Brisson confirms that EP40 dealt with injury which prevented him from Off-season Training.

Petey Haters: "You have no real evidence he was injured! You have no real evidence that the club didn't handle his pretend injury properly! You can't say for sure what was going on! You don't know that Petey isn't the laziest player alive and doesn't want to train in the offseason!!!!

Also Petey Haters after watching a 6 second clip from a practice: "LMAO he's flying!!! You idiots he was never injured!!!"
I have a hard time taking any of them that seriously anymore.

He did look like he had some power in his first step vs Toronto. So maybe he stopped faking there..?

Why would this change anyone’s opinion? Pettersson already said exactly this in pre-season. It’s the severity of the issue and impact on his play that’s debatable.

unless petey was gay then i doubt this incident really means anything at all. thats not enough to send their 2nd best player away for 10 games. that was probably just 1 of many incidents of miller ripping into petey instead of the one that caused any blow up

regardless of EP40s sexual orientation, it's a big deal (because there could be someone else in the room)

yea.. the incident would have been the series of incidents, peaking at losing it at the coach.

this is all Reddit fanfic until an actual source can back it up

His agent is putting this info out to save the player 100 questions after every goose egg he lays. Thats all this is.

This is all damage control.

"damage control" ... the info has been common knowledge all season. he's heading into an international tournament. he's played well lately (the team has been winning). nothing you're saying make sense.

I don't even know why we are giving these rumours wings. I don't care what anyone's sexuality is. I know most of us don't. That's their thing to figure out and I support them as long as they adhere to the golden rule.

I'm not surprised, I'm just...disappointed...that this is going around.

I was stopping short of screaming it. I don't know, we chanted for one GM to leave, got our wish...flew a banner for another, got our wish...and things just get more complicated.

Can we just admit between all this and the riots we can kind of be dogshit fans at times? Bipolar at least?

Like, I called my shot. We have some passionate, passionate fans. I love that about us and playoffs roll in and it makes me remember why I fell in love with hockey and sport in the first place. I do think this generation, group, whatever, we as fans of this team have seen enough heartbreak to appreciate the journey as much as the destination. I think this group of fans, seeing the support for the team, can and will see a Stanley Cup in Stanley Park. There isn't a bad singular person I don't like, I can talk most of us 1 on 1, but we as a group hivemind are useless idiots that let our anxieties become our realities.

My very first hockey game I dragged my dad (god love him, he's more an outdoors hick than a sport guy) to, I had tears coming from me. It was just beautiful to me we could all come together from whatever god-forsaken hole we were forced into in the 9-5 and cheer together and find happiness, frustration, sadness, together as a village watches a hockey rink. The players were gladiators, these fearless heroes defending what we stood for. Now, I just see them for what they are - human.

These are kids we place the weight of our communal needs upon. I don't think every kid can handle that. I know I wouldn't have been capable of that, and when I was 9 and saw my first game, Joe Sakic was my f***ing idol for years forward. That's the power of sport. It brings us together and unites the disenfranchised, should we want that.

Never mind my oldman rambling, back at it. I just wish we could find it in ourselves to find the compassion and give some of it to the players and ourselves as fans honestly. We been through some shit, some of us have seen it all or enough. We still keep coming back for more even after at least a dozen kicks to the nuts. Hell, I must be nuts by now I been kicked so hard so many times. But that's the beauty. When your in the mud, you have the innate desire to pick yourself up with a smile.
Frig.... this was an outstanding post

Is there a way for say the Canucks' orthopaedic surgeon to assess the injury and determine whether it's recurrent. Kind of important when it comes to whether or not to turn down the opportunity to trade him.
I mean it's simply "does it hurt again?" but you can find the injury with various imaging. It's not something that is normally addressed with surgery from what I was told. That's sort of last ditch effort with questionable effectiveness. I should mention I am not in this field at all....I only know about this and hip arthroscopy/impingement/labrum repair due to first hand experience and talking to my doctor/surgeon. He trained at the Mayo clinic in Minnesota so he's quite familiar with hockey injuries. Well and I can read scientific papers with understanding.

It's tough injury but I would of hoped a top team and a top athlete would of had a top plan to get this sorted earlier. Learn from it move on and for heavens sake get this guy's quads going this off season

No.

It started with the conspiracy theories that Elias Pettersson was never injured.. Spread by a handful of more or less openly biased posters.

All I have done is tried to keep the discussion grounded in reality by pushing back on this conspiracy theory and its latter iterations when Ive had the energy to do so.

Im not sure I buy the theory that Millers behaviour directly affected EPs play on ice. If it did so, it would be highly unusual. But their rift pretty clearly affected the vibes of the entire team.

The argument for most here outside of a few haters has almost always been about the severity and why/how he couldn't recover or get over it or play through it to a reasonable degree. About the disconnect with staff media teammates with desire to want to be a Canuck with how 8yrs and 92 million was going to look on an ongoing basis.

With whether we were better to keep Miller and get value for 40 vs getting little for Miller and being where we are now. If he was even good enough to be the man or whether retooling was a better move before his NMC kicks in and he takes away the teams chance at dictating a move and for what.

Whether Pettersson could be a leader durable and able to rise to the occasion and battle through adversity when things got tough. Because to win anything in the NHL it will get tough.

You have given EP40 pretty much a free pass plus been defiant and dismissive while doing it. You have also been one of the most inflammatory posters towards Miller the staff and framed many of your previous arguments with intent to retaliate and blame towards others using exaggerated and unsubstantiated evidence

The last thing you have been doing is trying to keep the discussion grounded.

Now you are revelling in your stance calling people out for lacking sound judgment and declaring victory yet the same questions remain and an agent posting what we already knew changes nothing.

The agent's tweet absolutely destroys the putridly p***ylanimous petterhate that we have been blessed to witness here in this forum

Turns out Petey is hard working and wanted to train for hockey strength but was prevented by injury - contrary to those disgusting takes that called him lazy

As we already knew, Petey is as tough as any good ol' boy Camadian hockey player and he played through the injury all the way from the all star break to the end of playoff run - contrary to those disgusting takes that called into question his dedication, perseverance and commitment to his team

As we already knew, Petey handled all of this with class - contrary to those disgusting takes calling him a baby

As we already knew, Petey wasn't responsible for the locker room cancer - contrary to those disgusting takes saying he was equally culpable*

Now that the evidence has been laid bare for all to see, will the petterhate end?

I hope not, but that's because I am . . . well, you know

*yeah, it's a word. Means the white stuff left on the outside of the inside of an orange after you peel it. Google it if you dont believe me

Better send an email to the staff media and Miller then so they know this all true for next time - Sincerely agent Brisson and Hf posters
