Prospect Info: WJC 2022 part 2: Picking Back Up In August

Bedard warming the bench since the 2nd period. Bad penality and bad defensive zone coverages. Coachs will spend some time to show him videos and he will be back stronger. Thats only part of the learning process.

I thought that was Roy's best game of the WJC's despite just the 1 pt. He looked good out there though clearly he is very easy to push around out there.
Thats what Im talking about when I say lack of physical involvement. But still very young and there is alot to like about his game.

Da f*** was the Finn coach thinking by not sending Kemell to start that 5 on 3??? Stupid stupd coaching...
He didnt start the OT either last game and Lambert was on the bench too, Brad got on the ice with 30 seconds left.

He gets pushed around a lot because he likes to hold off players with his body, its gonna come as he gets older. Hes not a small dude. His lower body lacks explosiveness and strength.

It's not a lack of involvement at all, its that he gets involved despite being weak. Roy is a guy that got by on talent a lot as hes supremely talented. Hes a guy that never really worked his weaknesses probably from bad counsel and just lack of actually needing to do it. Hes said that his shot, fitness and skating were his weaknesses a few years ago, now his shot is pretty much elite. Just need to keep working.

To my draft guru friends on the draft threads, I would be curious to know what you think of Kemell at that point. @WeThreeKings, still think the kid is a Gilbert Brulé clone? @NotProkofievian Still think its laughable to have ranked him 3rd OV? There is nothng wrong to change our mind once in a while BTW. Did you finally figure out why Wright dropped on draft day? Can you now see what I meant regarding Slaf's power tools or you are rather still trying to figure out?:naughty:

@Mrb1p Do you surely but slowly learn to get some love for our 1st OV pick?

I haven't really been impressed. Powerplay specialist.

Knee jerk

I had Kemell pretty high but 3rd is a joke.
We havent seen anything from Shane or juraj. Actually, Shane looked better in his rookie camp than Slaf.

Cooley and Jiricek look like ass too so far so its hard to say.

Jiricek surely doesnt look better than Prime Subban, Ill tell you that.

I haven't liked what I've seen with Jiricek in the past couple tourneys. I don't hate it, I just don't see the hype so many of us had for him. I see Nemec as being considerably the better option personally.

He has been injured a lot and this is slowing down his progression. I still like his upside a lot though.

Cooley is miles better than Kemell as a prospect despite his tournament right now.
I rather think Kemell is the better prospect. In Kemell you get a top line goalscorer in the mold of a Caufied, in Cooley you get an undersized 2nd line center.

Jiricek isnt the same player since his knee injury, will need time to reach the level he was prior injury.

Yeah still far from 3rd overall. Far far far away.

Caufield, the one who people were convinced was a bust after 2 WJCs?

Yeah, I still prefer Cooley because he's a better prospect and I think the entire NHL scouting community agreed with me there.

The wjc tells nothing otherwise Poehling is better than Pacioretty and we know that's just not true.

Cooley is the better player, in all aspects. The WJC means nothing when it’s time to determine a NHL career. Proof is that Caufield or even Suzuki didn’t have exceptional WJCs.
