Anything is possible ( OEL or maybe Yandle :)). But Kekalainen is more draft minded GM , he is really cool as draft specialist, trading side a little bit worse. This year's draft is gold mine for him ( and for us respectively :))

We can trade Murray, we can trade Murray and Wennberg, but + 1st is possibly overpayment

Frankly, possible trade Murray+Wennberg for OEL is impossible. Don Maloney not a idiot, that to agree on this. Why Arisona need megainjured player and "cat in a bagful". It's necessary to add. First round 2015, miserably. Anisimov the best option.
Two Euros off, just one on. I'm happy. And the main benefit, that OEL has not yet been injured in this NHL career. For us its very, very important.

What do you guys think of
Boedker? I've always like that kid, be worth a shot. Not sure what I would part with though, definitely would not want to overpay.

Boedker, 50 points of season Euros. Three years in the league "from bell till bell", but now he is injured. RFA after this season, wing, current cap hit 2 550 000.
Very good and useful player, good scater, good skill. Really like too. Atkinson+2th 2015+3th 2016, my thoughts.

I don't think that's enough. Boedker is better than that package.

I don't believe what I'm reading.

Oliver Ekman-Larsson - if everything goes well - has the potential to be one of the best defensemen in the game and be in the conversation for the title of best defenseman in the game.

Ryan Murray - if everything goes well - has the potential to be the unquestioned best defenseman in the game.

Things haven't gone well to this point completely due to injuries. These do not appear to be chronic injuries, which makes any talk of him being injury-prone both premature and foolish. To trade him now for Ekman-Larsson would be a mistake, maybe not today and maybe not tomorrow, but possibly as soon as next year. To trade more than Murray for Ekman-Larsson would be obscene.

The entire Murray/OEL conversation reminds me of this - and to some degree a lot of the 'trade the youth' talk, like Wennberg, Rychel, Atkinson, etc as well.

After Richards and Jarmmo's comments on Anderson when he was sent back, do the kid a favor and trade him to somewhere that doesn't think the big, fast, hard hitting, 20 yr old power forward has "Plateaued". Package him to get OEL out of Phoenix.

You think he has the potential to be the next boone Jenner? Cause i don't see much room for improvement tbh.

YIKES... :shakehead

saying he's plateaued at this point is not saying he's done growing...just that he needs to go back to the AHL and continue growing...

I feel this is an extreme piece of homerism. If everything goes right, you really think Murray would be an unquestioned best defender in the league? I mean really? To think that Murray at this stage is even close to fair value for OEL is mind boggling. I'm a huge Murray fan, but if you could go get OEL for Murray that's a trade that is made 10 out of 10 times IMO.

How do we get this accomplished? Anyone have Maloney's e-mail? I'm sure the package would only have to include the lowest of our 3rd's and Arizona's rebuild is in full swing. :amazed:

Are you serious? Taking the comments a little literal and long term don't you think? These types of comments are not uncommon for young players. They come in, excited, world on fire and then plateau a bit. It's part of the learning curve. Some get a seat in the press box while others go down to the minors and still others can play through it. This isn't a slap. Anderson will be just fine. Easier to send him strewn while the FO tried to sorry out the excess D without losing an asset.

To me OEL is another one of those players who would fit in perfectly, but would cost way to much to get him.

Why do you say that? I don't think any of us are trying to de-value Murray here. We all know he has tremendous value, hence the discussion.

Wanting to trade a kid who is nowhere even near his prime and is already one of the best defenders on our team means they're ready to give up on him, which would be a fatal mistake imo

I'm not sure about the validity of this but I was told about a trade being in the works with Edmonton. My friend is good friends with Davitch and said that a deal is being discussed that would send Atkinson and Connauton to Edmonton for Yakupov.

There may be nothing to it but thought I'd pass it on as he has given me stuff in the past that has been correct. Of course, he's told me things that have never materialized either.

I would pretty much guarantee Yak wont be moved for those two players.

That might be interesting. Yakupov's value is low. Connaughton has restored his value and he's our 4th best left side defender. They may see Atkinson as a replacement for Yak's offense.

There'd likely be something a little more from us. With our Russians, demise of the KHL and it seems lack of diva behavior from him -- I'm cool with taking a whirl with Yak. His second contract will be very affordable.

I seriously doubt Edmonton moves Yakupov for a small, undersized, inconsistent forward and a defenseman who hasn't shown he's anything better than a bottom pairing guy in the NHL. They'll want an established guy who can make a difference on their team (especially on the back end)
