There is always a chance that a goalie could win the series but the NYR are closer to the 3rd option than the second one.

A team in the same division as NYR, 16 points ahead of NYR, and just made a trade for an even bigger talent than Miller doesn’t get this thread, but washed up underperforming NYR who brings in a known locker room issue does?

Sure.

Edit: Sorry, didn't see the playoffs part. Then no. I assumed you meant in a 7 game series of flip cup after their schedule opens up in April.

The Rangers have the 2nd fewest points in the Eastern Conference.

Like a 2 percent chance . Florida is basically better everywhere ( except if Shetsy goes god mode ) . Miller doesn’t come close levelling the field .

1st off, one hockey player doesn’t move the needle much, not in hockey. They play a third of the game, and when they are on the ice, they are lucky to have the puck on their stick for 1 min of that 20 mins.

Secondly, because hockey there are a lot of uncontrollable, pucks deflecting, penalties, a hot goalie, that any nhl team can win a 7 game series. As dysfunctional as the rangers have been, they have good players and are capable of winning any 7 game series. I give Florida the adv, but it wouldn’t be shocking if they lost either

We all know Miller makes the Rangers that much better. But is it enough to beat FLA in the playoffs?
IMO it’s far more likely the Rangers aren’t making the playoffs and that first they gave up rolls to unprotected in 2026 than they play the Panthers.

They can be a lot better than they have been this season and it’s possible they could figure it out and go on a run. That team might have a chance. But the odds are quite low.

I’ve been critical of JT Miller but in all honesty he seems like the perfect guy to have as the anchor on your flip cup team

I’m surprised how many NYR fans are talking about JT Miller like he’s the second coming of Christ, ready to propel their team to new heights.

I’m no hater of the guy, but is he really THAT reliable and that much of a guaranteed superstar?

Im a Rangers fan. Close this thread lol. Theyre not going to make the playoffs let alone beat the panthers

He’s exactly what we need. unfortunately, the defense sucks. NYR not going anywhere

Right now they're trying to find what it takes to win a game. Pump the brakes on a 7 game series. The trade here wasn't to get over the hump and beat Florida, the trade here was a kick in the ass to get something going and get a player they hope can be elite for them, since ZIbanejad can't handle the 1c.

You clearly didn't spend too much time on our board if that's what you think.

As a first round spoiler? Absolutely. It's been done countless times when a far better team gets knocked out due to a far lesser team

Should maybe make a poll that asks if by adding miller they will make the playoffs and go from there….
