There is always a chance that a goalie could win the series but the NYR are closer to the 3rd option than the second one.

A team in the same division as NYR, 16 points ahead of NYR, and just made a trade for an even bigger talent than Miller doesn’t get this thread, but washed up underperforming NYR who brings in a known locker room issue does?

Sure.

Edit: Sorry, didn't see the playoffs part. Then no. I assumed you meant in a 7 game series of flip cup after their schedule opens up in April.

The Rangers have the 2nd fewest points in the Eastern Conference.

Like a 2 percent chance . Florida is basically better everywhere ( except if Shetsy goes god mode ) . Miller doesn’t come close levelling the field .

1st off, one hockey player doesn’t move the needle much, not in hockey. They play a third of the game, and when they are on the ice, they are lucky to have the puck on their stick for 1 min of that 20 mins.

Secondly, because hockey there are a lot of uncontrollable, pucks deflecting, penalties, a hot goalie, that any nhl team can win a 7 game series. As dysfunctional as the rangers have been, they have good players and are capable of winning any 7 game series. I give Florida the adv, but it wouldn’t be shocking if they lost either

We all know Miller makes the Rangers that much better. But is it enough to beat FLA in the playoffs?
IMO it’s far more likely the Rangers aren’t making the playoffs and that first they gave up rolls to unprotected in 2026 than they play the Panthers.
