Very frustrating and scary night tonight. I posted in the pet thread a few days ago about one of my dogs not feeling well. He seems to be doing okay.

But tonight my other dog started to vomit her entire dinner up. Then proceeded to continue to throw up in different spots. And then...vomited blood. I've never had thar happen to me. So my sister took her to the vet. She's still there. The place in Woburn said they had an opening, so she goes there. They say it's 200 dollars upfront. Okay. Then after they take my dogs temperature, they say it's a 3-4 hour wait time. Surely they didn't want to mention that before taking the 200.

They said she could wait or take my dog to a vet in Newton. So. My sister drove all the way there. Upon getting there. My poor dog had bloody diarrhea. They tell her they're gonna do the full workup to see what's going on. Might be over a 1,000 dollars by the end of it. I am just shocked. But. We're just gonna have to pull together and worry about the money later. I need to know what's going on with my poor girl. She was perfectly fine today. I don't think it's a coincidence that my other dog was sick (but not throwing up like this or blood) and now she is. I'm not sure if they ate something outside in the yard or what.

So. If anyone can say a prayer or send some good vibes my dogs way I'd appreciate I just pray its nothing serious and they can fix my girl. I love her with entire heart.
So scary. Please keep us posted.

ETA just saw the update. I’m glad she will be ok!

I hope all works out. Best of luck to the pup

Appreciate it everyone. She just got home about 20 minutes ago. It's been a long 9ish hours of worrying. My baby is a little out of it due to a sedative. They did a complete check up. Found nothing thank God. They believe she has a stomach virus. This is the best outcome I can think of. Sent home with an antibiotic and a probiotic. She might still have blood in her stool for a few days. But that should clear up. Just got to watch and make sure she doesn't vomit anymore. They gave her anti nausea medicine at the place. Bill is about $1,800 and some change 😬 Crazy. But anything to make sure she was gonna be okay. We'll make it work.

I'm greatful for the team at Veterinary Emergency Group in Newton for taking such good care of her. About a 25 minute ride from where we live. Thank goodness for them.Fingers crossed this is the end of this stressful saga. My Muffy girl is 12 years young. I love her so much. Hopefully she's on the mend now. ❤️

Hemmorhagic Gastritis. One of my dogs had it,scary as hell, but not a problem if caught early. Glad it worked out. I recently had to put one of my dogs down at 12 because of a $10200 surgery to reverse torsion. I had dealt with that before 10 years ago and it was $3200 then, which we paid. Animal care is getting cost prohibitive. I always treat with alternatives first, before the costly visits/meds.

In fairness, English was a second language to Erich Leinsdorf who ironically was able to stay in the US thanks to the man who became President that day

In November 1937, Leinsdorf travelled to the United States to take up a position as assistant conductor at the Metropolitan Opera in New York City. As it turned out, his departure from Austria came a few short months ahead of the Anschluss of March 1938, when the country was taken over by Nazi Germany. With the assistance of freshman Representative from Texas Lyndon B. Johnson, he was able to stay in the United States, and became a naturalized American citizen in 1942

On November 22, 1963, during a Boston Symphony concert, Leinsdorf had to announce the reports of President John F. Kennedy's assassination in Dallas, Texas, to a shocked audience. He and the orchestra followed the news with a performance of the Funeral March from Beethoven's third symphony.

The odd thing about the aftermath of the JFK assassination was America went into a deep funk for a couple of months and we did not snap out of it until Ed Sullivan did this

My parents and older brother DESPISED rock music but they were also captivated by the Beatles.

My parents said the same thing- from the day of the assassination & for a very long time afterwards the country was in shock, then in depression. Nobody felt like doing anything, they just went through the motions. They didn't say anything about the Beatles pulling them out of it though.

@Mione134 I"m sorry your pup isn't feeling well and sending him imaginary treats for his recovery.

And you, too need to take care of yourself!

Appreciate it. It's been a heck of a night. I feel like I've been hit by a bus. Just trying to take it easy today. It's always something happening with my family I swear. 😩

I'm just so relieved that it's nothing serious.
Thank you everyone for the kind words. Luckily this board is filled with pet lovers who get it. Animals are family. ❤️

Finally got around to watching this

Ive watched Gage wrestle for almost 20 years Arquette wasnt smart to get in the ring with him. But this Vice documentary makes the match seem worse than it was.

Had my last TR in Flagstaff Az few years ago, good indeed...Flagstaff is awesome too
Flagstaff is great. In fact the whole area up there is fantastic. Next weekend, we are spending the weekend at a B&B in Williams, about 20 miles west of Flagstaff. Taking the train to the Grand Canyon on Saturday for a nice day away from the computers. If I could get a second home, it would be a cabin up there.

Crazy, but pet insurance is an actual thing. Learned that when my first dog of my adult life tore the cruciate ligament in one leg, then the other one a few months later, and then, a couple of months after moving back to MA, she fell out the window of the house we were renting and broke a femur and dislocated a wrist. AS you all know, anything to keep the puppers healthy, but having insurance would have made it much easier financially.

We are stopping at a Buc-ees just outside Huntsville. There is literally nothing here except Buc-ees, in the middle of nowhere, and the traffic is like getting into Disney.

We are insane.

In my defense my brother is driving lol.

Dogs are family for sure. I'd be devastated if anything happened to mine. Last week I didn't see him for like an hour and a half on the pet cam and I was getting all worried that a door got open or he got stuck somewhere and running through all the worst case scenarios in my head. Turns out he was just taking a nap in the laundry room.

That cloud really looks like a car!

It is like the Chick-Fil-A here in Norman. The line is obnoxious at all hours of the day
There were hundreds of people there, easily.

The bathrooms were as good as advertised, at least. They even have hand sanitizer inside each stall lol. And there's an indicator on each stall so you can easily tell which ones are vacant.

That's why I never go to In-N-Out. It's good but the line practically wraps around the building so it's rarely worth waiting for.

A sign of a good bathroom for sure.

One I went to had a market a store and I think some sort of restaurant with 2 giant bathrooms.

3 in my area so no wait. Its next to the Kellys I got hired at too. Their breakfast is good. I used to only sit in a line for In N Out. Thats worth it.

Cabin in Flagstaff sounds awesome. Love the area as well.

We did Flagstaff back in May (3rd time there) and drove to Prescott, crossed Peeples Valley - how beautiful is that place! - and stayed in Wickenburg, before we headed west towards Colorado River.

First time there we hiked trails around Humphreys Peak, amazing views.

Next time we ll drive east to Holbrook and then turn south, huge area to explore, Payson looks interesting, never been there.

Have a great weekend!

Don't blink when you pass through Holbrook! It's where I was born, so it has a special place in my heart. Take the time to drive through the Petrified Forest. Definitely worth the time. My favorite stop there is Blue Mesa - just an incredible palette of Mother Nature's colors. Also consider turning north onto the Reservation and explore Canyon De Chelly (sounds like "De Shay") and Monument Valley. Both give breathtaking views. And now, we're about a half hour from Wickenburg - a cool little western city. There's sooo much to see in this state!

In-N-Out is always worth waiting for!
