Possible Chevy will try and sneak a goalie on waivers closer to the season. Or try and trade for an expendable backup during the year if Brossoit craps the bed.

Both times Broissoit played over 30 games in AHL he had a higher save percentage than Comrie's "breakout" year this year. He should solidly be above Comrie. It remains to be seen if the Jets bring in another netminder to compete with Broissoit or take it from him for the backup role. They need a veteran to pair with Comrie in the AHL, IMO.

Anyone who thinks they know which back-up goalies will turn out best this season are deluding themselves. Goalies are hoodoos.

Brossoit's stats are heavily skewed. Like I previously stated, on a mediocre Oilers team he is mediocre. 2 years ago when the team played to 100+ points, he was a SOLID backup!

You can know less than someone overall and still be right about a situation...

Not saying they are, but saying this appeal to authority crap is simply just crap.

There are people who have spent decades running and overseeing any and all operations of a multi-million dollar casino, and on some things, I am correct about things we've disagreed on.

Specifically with hockey, the "math nerds" are absolutely right that coaches pull their goalies at a far from optimal time. The time will come where much like the goalie coming 30 feet out of their crease on a breakaway, we can't believe anyone ever did something the stupid way.

So yeah, you're absolutely correct Garret.

Solid back up? He played 8 games and his mins. played didn't even equal to 6 games played. In total he has played only 28 career NHL games over 4 years.

I agree with Holden, he's better than Comrie. He can be serviceable imo, not my first choice but I prefer him over Hutch personally.
But Moose don't need a vet. Comrie and Bredin should be there, Comrie has played enough games to take a big load there.

People ask if I want to manage a NHL team some day. I say I never want to because I don't have all the skillsets to do so.

I do believe I'm better at some specific areas though, which is why I consult and sell stuff to GMs. And even in those areas, I'll still be wrong sometimes and they will be right.

Your right this whole appealing to authority is crap as my user name would suggest but there is a big difference between appealing to authority and giving the people that have much more information (Chevy) then anyone on HFBoards the benefit of the doubt. I've learnt to trust Chevy over the last 7 years and I will not freak out until I see what product is on the ice in Oct. Until then I give Chevy a pass.

HFBoards was consistent all last season and last summer, panic first, panic second, panic third, then cheer for our team that made it to the WCF only 2 month ago.
