Nerves all nerves, Price being price again is the difference.

Yep.

Thing is, we have seen this team have good stretches this year when it comes to limiting chances, so they are capable. Confidence is probably the biggest hurdle right now. Price's play in the 1st period hopefully serves as a mini building block to get the guys feeling good about themselves again.

The Burden of the challenge is on him.

IT would just prove how unprofessional Price had been in the last.couple of months.

Sidney Crosby did the same thing last season. Leader of the team seeing a bunch of garbage in front of him. Coach gets fired and they win the cup. It's no unprofessional. He did what was necessary to help the team and his teammates.

Hopefully our Boys find a little more cohesion in the second period.
CJ must have an inkling now of how are D is such a hot mess.

Notes on the first period:

Nice to see the boys playing a possession game. The d-men are jumping into the rush. Should have always played a possession game given that almost all of the defencemen have a good first pass and can skate (besides for Markov but he more than makes up for his lack of footspeed with smarts).

Chucky redeemed his sloppy defensive play with a nice pass. Needs to make better reads in the defensive zone but it's nice to see the first line clicking. Danault, regardless of his place in the line up, is a machine. He drives play. Weber had some good reads and jumped up to create some plays. Bad penalty though. Price looks reinvigorated and has been good.

Understandble considering MT valued loyalty and his "pets" over chemistry, size or hockey ability. The roster is constructed to make MT happy, not necessarily to win hockey games.

Very true. It was very apparent he catered to him. Does MB have his own vision and if this is it, he needs to GTFO as well.

Only in Montreal you cant have big and can skate. Only small and shifty

Let's all move past the Subban trade and start thinking about that 2C hole.
We have things to address and dwelling on the past won't help that.
I'd rather have a top winger to be honest. We can get by with Dannault and Pleks as 2,3 but Byron shouldn't be on the 2nd line.

Chuky's skating is still way off did you see him laboring to try and break up a 2-1?
Ouch...

Wait, Jets had 15 shots on goal to our 6? I thought we sucked because of Therrien.

We did. Our goal was because of one of the few changes that Julien made (Chucky to top line and no chip and chase).

Lol are you serious ? At least Burns, Karlsson, Doughty are all way ahead of him.

Unless he goes PPG the rest of the season + great defense, he won't win the Norris.

I think it's safe to say Burns will win the Adams yes?

Whoever is there with him will be for honourable mentions only.

So what ? The point was that Weber can win the Norris this season, nothing to do with Subban.
With all due respect to Weber, he has no business winning the Norris this year. He earned a player of the month award and that was warranted but that's about it.

Claude had around 1 hour to fix things.

I'm already seeing a favorable difference in our playstyle, the stats will come later when players actually learn the system.

After one period, Price = julien's system..

Except for the goal. That was Julien. Can't win hockey games scoring 0 goals. And putting Chucky on the top line is a change that somebody watching hockey for the first time would make. Yet, MT couldn't get past his sizeable ego to make that change.

I don't see us getting far in the playoffs with Danault as 2C, but Lehkonen on the 2LW would work with a good 2C.
The C is the important position.
