Winnipeg Jets, village burning

To be fair their analytics also support that their power play isn't good. They're near the bottom of the league in that category.

Could there be fixes? Maybe, but it doesn't seem to be an issue of just bad luck.

The pp issue is they just don't use the pieces they have correctly and our first unit pp is way too static. They need scrap the entire thing and burn it to the ground and start fresh. They have enough talent to be mid table on the PP imo.

No superstar, no depth, bad coach.

Also just look at their games this season, loses to LA, Vegas (2x), Dallas (2x), NYR.. etc. basically all the good teams they lose to all the bad teams they win against (with a couple exceptions here or there but generally).
beat Boston, Swept Both Florida teams, Beat LA, beat Jersey, beat the Aves twice Lost to the Rangers in OT. Lost to Vegas and Stars at beginning of the year, Didn't the stars lose to the Habs last night, and lost on home ice as well? and they lost to Vegas a couple of times as well.

Didn't realize "Minny" was such a complex for some people .

There are zero negative connotations with it. Just some abbreviated slang that has stuck with a lot of people since they travel there for tourism.
Bro, Oiler fans have got shit from Wild fans for it foreverrrrr. Those Canadian Americans really don't like it lol

Maybe bailing wasn't the right word. Jets are performing like a top 10 defensive team, but they aren't performing like the #1 defensive team in the league and that gap is made up by Helle who along with Demko is playing like the #1 goalie in the NHL this year. That's not unusual for Helle though.
Sorry but you are just digging yourself into a deeper hole.
You obviously don't watch the Jets on a regular basis and that is fine. I don't watch the Oil and because of this I don't go on a board and think I can diagnose all of the Oiler issues. Since I have not watch them regularly I have know idea why they have been so bad this season. If you watched the Jets regularly you would know that your comments are comming from total ignorance. The 2022/23 version of the Jets is light years better then any other version except maybe the 2017/18 team.

Will they falter as the season progresses?
Maybe.
But the way they are playing today both defensively and offensively is easily repeatable for the rest of this season and for a long PO run.

When did I try to diagnose all their problems? I simply said their on ice results are far outperforming their analytics. Thats not an opinion, thats a fact. What remains to be seen is if that will continue or if their on ice results will start to normalize with the analytics. There's outliers every year where teams greatly outperform their analytics and sometimes it lasts the entire year, while sometimes it doesn't. Its a valid question to have if their results will continue at this level.

I've never once questioned if they're going to be a playoff team. I'm questioning if they're a top 5 team like their on ice results have shown so far despite their analytics not being near top 5 overall. And for the record their analytics aren't bad. They still show them as a playoff level team just not an elite one. Its very possible they continue to have elite level on ice results.

Jack Eichel is aight.

Also, you think Winnipeg has a shot at the Cup based on what?

They've only lost 9 times. 81, 55, 44 and Helle are superstars. But I realize you are just trolling. The regular season means nothing though.

You can't be serious?

Dallas has a superstar, Dallas has depth, and Dallas has a good coach, Dallas also has playoff success, Dallas has leadership, Dallas has experience and Dallas has been to Conference and Stanley Cup finals MULTIPLE times in the last few years.. something Winnipeg can't even get a slight whiff of over a decade of being back in the league.

Comparing these two teams is just sad.
The Jets are better than Dallas right now, but who knows, maybe Dallas can back on top. Jets are definitely deeper.

Yes, the team that is 0-2 against the other is better. Right.

It looks like coach Bownesses message when they got embarrassed in their last playoff game got through to the players.
I think that was a bit overblown. We lost to the eventual Stanley Cup champion, and doing it while without Scheifele, Morrissey and Ehlers. Connor was kind of a ghost and we needed Wheezer and PLD to show up but they looked lazy in that series, I still think that's most of the issue last year.

Those Jeta were frauds. This year’s Jets are much better.

Rangers and Avalanche off Friday night and the Jets play Anaheim. Bragging rights late tomorrow night?
