McKenzie had him at 22 right where the Jets were picking. This isn't necessarily coincidence, McKenzie does know the final lists for quite a few teams. 2 years ago Button's mock draft was able to hit 9 of the first 10 picks and he later admitted that was because he know the lists of those teams.

It's entirely possible McKenzie had Stanley at 22 because he knew the Jets were planning on selecting him.

Not how his list works. Its not a mock draft.

Clague is pretty solid at breakouts and aside from net front abilities fairly decent at breaking up plays. It's kind of the opposite with Stanley. He's a beast in front of the net and can clear players and pucks to the corners but when it comes to executing a breakout he just doesn't have the quickness, vision and IQ to move the puck well. He's a decent rusher throught the NZ but again lacks the IQ, vision and quickness to create plays off the rush so many of them end up dead and back the other way.

Clague reminds me Postma somewhat and Stanley reminds me of Chiarot alot.

McKenzie had Logan Stanley ranked at #22 in his 2016 mid-season rankings, before the Jets had acquired their second 1st round pick, so he couldn't have been focusing on the Jets at that time.

You won't get any disagreements from me on your analysis of Stanley's game. His decision making is his major weakness. I have always found Clague to make real risky breakouts when I've seen him play. I haven't seen him in a bit so maybe he's cleaned it up a bit.

How do you know? he doesn't give the details of how voti9ng broke down for players that far down in the draft.

He's definitely publicly stated his list is an aggregate of scouts and is NOT a mock draft and does not factor in the teams picking

Any progress report out of Windsor on his injury and if he will be ready for the memorial cup tourney?

His coach thinks he'll be back... (from April 10): http://blackburnnews.com/windsor/windsor-news/2017/04/10/spitfires-dig-long-layoff/

“What were going to have as an advantage, for the first time all year we’ll be healthy,†says Thompson. “Come the Memorial Cup we’re going to get Logan Stanley back, which is going to be a big opportunity for us and for our team. Other teams will be broken down over the course of the playoffs. We won’t be.â€

When do you guys think Logan can crack the jets roster? It would be cool to see him next to Myers.

Tough lift for Stanley to miss half a season and then go straight into a short, intense tournament like the Memorial Cup. Hope he isn't too rusty or behind in conditioning. I'm interested to see him in Development Camp this season.

Long term - Boom or Bust prospect. See Morin /Phillys 1 st round 2013 pick. He was picked a couple picks b4 Morressay and Morressay is about to break out and Morin just finnished his d+4 season.. 2nd in A.H.L. .

MORIN actually had a better pre draft and post draft seasons in the C.H.L than Stanley and he has gone 4 seasons after his draft ( 10th O.A. ) and has yet to play a NI.H.L game.

Short answer........... not anytime soon. My prediction he plays his first N.H.L. game in the 2019-20 season.

Edit Morin has played 1 N.H.L game in mop duty at the end of last season for the Flyers.

Sounds like a waste of a first round pick
No offense to the guy
Why would anyone else have went for a 4 year project in the 1st round?
His ceiling is pretty low too isn't it?
Just s not body

Morrissey took 3 years and was picked 13th. Not that outrageous that Stanley might take an additional year with a major knee injury this season.

He may be, but it's awful early to write off a prospect this young.

Looks like the guys drafted after him are a few years away also.

If he can be a 3rd pairing shutdown D... it's a win really. Morrissey is our number 1 guy. We need a 2 lhd.

Way 2 early to write him off.

Yup. If you write him off based on his d+1 performance, you might as well write off Johansen, Hajek, Dineen, etc. too.

Stanley will take a few more years to develop, but that's not very unusual for a D.

The Flyers took Samuel Morin two picks before Josh Morrissey, so. . Not just us.

That's quite the long term project for a 3rd pair man d man from a 1st round pick tho

I'd have no problem with this pick if he was projected to be a top 4 dman or was a 2nd/3rd pick
Would've rather they looked at another forward
Who was available? Any one good?
