Crosby never touched or played the puck, imo that's interference
KC is protecting the puck and himself - that is not interference.
KC had the angle and was standing over the puck - he has a right to protect the puck and using your body to do that is legal.

Edit - my point is more about if this is really "pure and simple" - if it was, it would be called

I believe it's technically interference, although it might fall under the puck battle/body position exemption. They almost never call it...but it's a type of pick.

A “pick” is the action of a player who checks an opponent who is not in possession of the puck and is unaware of the impending check/hit. A player who is aware of an impending hit, not deemed to be a legal “battle for the puck,” may not be interfered with by a player or goalkeeper delivering a “pick.” A player delivering a “pick” is one who moves into an opponent’s path without initially having body position, SECTION 7 – RESTRAINING INFRACTIONSNATIONAL HOCKEY LEAGUE OFFICIAL RULES 2024-202588thereby taking him out of the play. When this is done, an interference penalty shall be assessed.
Connor had body position, and didn't move into Crosby's path

Reverse hits are interference pure and simple.
So Connor should have gotten out of the way and given Crosby the puck? Why does Crosby get to initiate contact on Connor in that situation, but not vice versa?

And where is the line between "bracing for a hit" and "reverse hit"?

Contact is contact. Sometimes you're the hammer, sometimes you're the nail. Don't be a sissy if you end up the nail when you thought you were being the hammer

Protect the puck yes throw a hit like that no way should that be legal. We are going to disagree on this one and any reverse hit I'm guessing

Jesus, all Connor did was use his body to box him out

Edit: Crosby definitely initiates contact at the same time connor does. I slowed it down further - ypu can tell by his left arm

Not to drag this out but is that really throwing a hit - he's basically backing into the guy which happens all the time when working the boards -
It's the others guy's momentum that is playing just as much a part -
Anyway, I get where you are coming from - this can be looked at from a few different perspectives

Looks like it's Singh and Garrett on the mics tonight.

If Ehlers (9 goals) scores tonight, the Jets will be the first team with 3 players in double digit goals.

Taken from the Predators Game Day Notes:

Luke Schenn is 1 point away from 200 for his career
Tommy Novak 1 point away from 100 for his career.

The Predators became the first team in NHL history to acquire 2 40-goal scorers in a single off season (Stamkos and Marchessault).

Is that sentence worded a bit strange? Do they mean 2 players that each scored 40 goals the previous season? Seems there would be other instances of a team acquiring 2 former 40-goal scorers in one off season, like an Iginla or Jagr at the end of their careers.

Stamkos owns the fastest recorded max speed of any player this season. He had a burst of 24.2 mph on Nov. 11 at Colorado (2:02) of overtime, per NHL Edge.

Preds have the best PK with a 91.3%

Per NHL Edge, Saros has faced the 2nd most most high danger shots in the NHL (136)
