Interesting note that Savard had retired from the game in the spring of 1981, but was lured out of retirement by his pal John Fergusson & joined the Jets at the midway point of the 81-82 season.

I remember an afternoon game (or perhaps a replay the following day on CKND), shortly after acquisition where some late game last minute heroics occurred via a Savard spinorama goal (vs the North Stars?) getting the Jets a win.

Perhaps it's time to lure another hockey legend out of retirement?

Savard was so respected - it was a big deal when the Jets brought him in. A real stabilizing veteran influence on a young team. There was only so much he could do with Soetaert and Staniowski between the pipes though...

How about a guy who once wore 33 for the Jets?
