Still the single season GAA goes to Pavelec, which is crazy, because I don't remember him being that good in 2014-15. I think something happened after he let that floater in from outside the blue line vs. St. Louis (?)

The ones I noticed is that Scheifele, if he can stay healthy, could pass Steen in all time games played by the end of next season. That's longevity, as Steen was a fixture here.

By the following season he's in position to break Hawerchuk's goal and point totals, with an outside shot at 1000 points, and I think that would be a sentimental moment for #55. KC still has a chance to be the Jets all time leading goal scorer.

A bit of a different era for Pavs. 2014-15 was around the apex of league GAA. Pavs was 12th in the league in GAA that year - and GAA is more of a team stat anyway (the Jets were arguably a top 10 defensive team that season).

The Jets 2.44 team GAA in 2014-15 was 10th in the league. Last season they won the Jennings with a 2.43 GAA.

Scheifele's always been impressive. More of a Steen than a Hawerchuk...he's going to break those records because he was very good and here for a long time.

That's interesting. I didn't realize goals were up that much since our first playoff appearance.

As for Scheif I really do see him as the incarnation of Ducky. Hawerchuk had some defensive warts. He was a minus player for 7 of his 9 seasons here. General consensus was that the 85 team was the best Jets team of that era. Much like Scheifele the Jets couldn't win without him in the playoffs. However Scheif was never a perennial top 10 scorer, but that may be the difference in eras, I'd say he is still the Jets best player as Hawerchuk was.

I was young around that era, so my memory isn't exact, but I seem to remember Steen being the one player that Gretzky had a hard time against. Steen and Smail.. They could skate with him, and Smail was a bit of a pit bull. I'd say Bryan Little was a lot like Steen, underrated 2C, never got the accolades.

Now Adam Lowry is a drastic improvement over Boschman, who was chippy but also struggled with elite players. Tougher too.

And the goaltending, well I'd hate to see what Hellebuyck would look like in those old Coopers, with the small leather glove and blocker.. Thankfully he's in the right era.

I looked at the TV after that goal and thought he would never suit up for the Jets again. And then he played the best he ever did in his life I think, through the end of that season. It was quite the turnaround. There was a guy on these boards who insisted that pacelec was a great goalie that whole year. He was prophetically right for once.

The Rags weren't that good that year although they did beat out the Isles before losing in 5 to the Habs.
A guy at work bet me some money after the Rags took the 1st game and gave me 2 to 1 odds...foolish, foolish, foolish.
