I think the NHL was celibrating their anniversary so the teams wore whites at home for half the season and then switched to the colored at home for half the season.

My first Jets/NHL game ever was about a month or so after this, also against San Jose. Jets won, score was something stupid like 6-5. I took the Grey Goose bus to Winnipeg from Dauphin, I was 17, felt like a real big man haha. I would have drove but the car I had at the time probably would have died near Neepawa.

People often forget that game was a loss...Jets had all the momentum when he scored his hat trick, but they stopped the game for a presentation and I think the Nordiques took a bit of an exception to that and ended up winning. Still an exciting moment nonetheless.

What's crazy is he scored another 23 goals in little over a month to finish with 76
