Is the whole city just sick of Chevy and the staleness of the organization? Why is attendance so low with Scheifele and Hellebuyck re-signing just recently? Always thought this market would never have any issues after getting them back in 2011.

Not trying to troll or flame, just a generalized concern for hockey there.

Nothing against you specifically (EDIT: or really against the Jets in particular or their fans) but I still remember the days when folks would insist the Jackets were obviously hopeless because folks would prefer Buckeye football games.

To answer. Msny fans have been dissatisfied with the product the last two years. It crashed and burned in each. Throw in awful inflation, losing a couple thousand seat holders due to COVID vaccination policies and you have an org that needs to mend some relationships and rebuild its ticket base.

The Canadian economy is in big trouble to be honest. Been stagnating for a while now. Losing a lot of skilled workers to the States. Wouldn't surprise me at all to see several Canadian teams have attendance issues this season.

that franchise simply would not be able to survive a rebuild. they're a playoff contender and yet, they're still having trouble selling out one of the smallest arenas in the league

The Jets aren't even that bad. If this continues expect their building to be half empty once the on ice product hits rock bottom in a couple years. Bettman won't fight to keep a team in Canada like he has with the Coyotes. Houston/Salt Lake City are natural replacements in the Central Division.

I still remember all the remarks about Atlanta's attendance. Explanations were seen as nothing more than fans excusing a bad market, and promises that Winnipeg would never look like that. I'm not gonna kick Jets fans while they're down, but there's many of us down here who will never forget those final days of the Thrashers in Atlanta.

I sincerely, honestly hope that whatever is going on (I've heard from a few friends up that way it's a combination of bad product plus ticket price hikes plus down economy, but YMMV), whatever the reasons, ownership and fans alike figure it out.
