Zach Collaros' career playoff stats with the Bombers

9 starts 6 tds 8 ints 1854 yards(206 yards per game) 144/209 (68.89%, 8.87 ypa) in a full season of his play off games he’d be on track for 12 tds 16 picks 3707 yards.

And to think some of you here have called him the greatest Qb in Blue Bomber history.
29 years of a fan bases starvation.

This org, while having success the last few years.

Is giving me a little too much in the way of a country club atmosphere. They are loaded with talent, but the loyalty to someone like Bighill yesterday - and to Hall this offseason (no way he’s getting fired), is annoying.

Collaros isn’t a superstar the last couple seasons, and that’s ok - even if the media markets him as such. He played well enough to win. I wish they used Prukop a little more, or quick short throws to Oliviera when it was clear he was their best player, and the OL was opening up decent lanes all night.

Would have helped take the pressure off Zach who was definitely feeling it.

I’ve made my feelings on Hall well known. That bullshit strategy of willingly bleeding yards is a trademark of his. It doesn’t collapse the team most nights because they have a lot of talent - but I’ve long thought he’s the weak link. You have Jeffcoat, and Willy who are solid players just negated because you don’t support them with enough men on the rush.

Fajardo has time to knit a sweater back there.
Using prukop for a few downs is how we lost the last Grey cup....

Hey hey HEY he’d actually be on track 3708 yards! Quit changing stuff to fit a narrative :sarcasm:

Seriously though, I agree he isn’t good in the playoffs. I know there’s discussion about him being among the greats but I think a lot of people still hold on to Dieter Brock and Tom Clements as being better. Or even Kenny Ploen and Jack Jacobs if you go further back. He’s certainly the best QB I’ve ever seen play for the Bombers, but that’s not saying much, I’ve only been watching since the Michael Bishop/Kevin Glenn days. Was too young for Khari.

His first two seasons here he was most certainly a force and he was positively impacting games — winning games for us. In the playoffs, he hasn’t been that guy. And this year he wasn’t the same ever. It’s no wonder Brady got our MOP nominee, because Collaros was f***ing things up left and right. That stupid interception yesterday was a big reason why we lost and it wasn’t a one-off, he did that several times this year.
Man I had blocked out Mikey Bishop...

Anyone wanna take a stab at who will and won't be back next year? I'm talking about players on the team (and coaches/coordinators/management), not HFBoards posters.
Houston we have a problem, guy couldn’t cover his own shadow!

Bailey could be easily replaced

I was just getting ready to head out to the Terry Fator show Sunday night when I started celebrating this easy touchdown throw to Demski when lo and behold Colloras goes for the deep endzone throw. It is under-thrown turning into a triple coverage interception. I had no idea Zach Collaros was one of Terry Fator's dummies.

I should have looked more closely at the promo picture for the show.

If you put together the biggest upsets of all-time in Grey Cup History, the 01 Calgary Stamps, the 22 Toronto Argos and the 23 Montreal Als are easily in the top 5. Hell they may be the biggest 3 upsets in Grey Cup History. All against the Bombers.

I am still beyond pissed off. Cannot believe the Bombers decided to not show up in the big game again. It's going to take me a long long while to get over this. I really wish we had lost the f***ing West Final instead to be honest. To have such a poor showing against such a poor team. Hell I'd rather have lost to the Argos. At least they may have earned a win unlike the Als.

At least we’re not as bad as the 1940 Toronto Balmy Beach Beachers, who outscored their opponents 75-12 enroute to an undefeated 6-0 season only to fall in the 2-game Grey Cup series on a 20-7 aggregate.

But yeah, that’s rough. I thank the heavens each day that ‘01 was before my time otherwise I’d be even more jaded than I already am.

I would say that when you finish the season with 8 straight wins you have earned the championship and the right to be called the league's best. Get over it. It's just a game. But if you really want to punish this organization, cancel your season tickets. That'll learn 'em to not piss ya off.

Not a good look, worse than what I remembered. I could see Demski was open as the play unfolded. How Collaros doesn't spot him while throwing down that side, is only for him to know. There is a lot of talk about who MOS dressed and who he didn't, which holds some validity, but none of that matters if Zach had grabbed the bull by the horns. The pick was bad, but he was granted another moment to redeem himself late in the 4th quarter. Secure the 1st down, snuff the game out and the rest is forgotten.

Hard decisions and changes due to come this off-season. It is concerning that so much money is going towards a qb that hasn't been able to rise to the big occasions. His playoff stat line isn't easy on the eyes. I don't doubt that ZC cares, he looked distraught after the game. Unfortunately the sporting business is measured in wins and not tears of regret. If I'm making the decisions, he isn't starting next year IF he's brought back.

Had a chuckle to myself today about the Bombers poor Grey Cup record. They're akin to a wrestler who is good enough to be in the main event, but is always asked to put over the other talent (unless it's the Tiger-Cats). Put on a show, entertain the people, then take the piledriver. Maybe it's a Winnipeg thing? Chris Jericho would be the guy to ask.

Is that mostly because of a bunch of appearances when they were in the weaker Eastern Division and made it to the final even though they weren't that good? When they've represented the West since the 1950s they must have won about half, if not more.

They've been to the Grey Cup 27 times, winning it on 12 occasions. Their most successful period was from the late 50's to the early 60's. Winning it 4 times between 1958 and 1962. In my lifetime they've gone to 10 and brought back 3. If that was a test score, you'd be better off eating the paper instead of showing your folks.

2001 was exceptionally bad, as we had far and away the best team in the CFL during the regular season. A team full of all-stars. Off the top of my head, I believe that team won every individual award up for grabs. We would fall to Calgary in the GC, who had a losing record even after becoming champions.

I'd have been happy to see them win, but I refuse to allow the fact that they lost affect me in any way

It must be a "curse" I guess. We should make one up, like the Black Hawks used to have that curse (the Curse of Muldoon or something) that allegedly prevented them from finishing in first place (until they did). How about ... the Curse of Mack Herron? Now to invent a back story and get it into the Free Press somehow.

That 01 team was outcoached by itself - it should have been a 16-2 season and kept the foot on the gas all the way.... so frustrating to watch us basically take our own momentum away and also someone should have locked Charles Roberts in a room until after the GC... THEN you can party.

Very very true.
Regardless we will be very very good again next year.
Sign up Walters already though.
