Cossa has looked very good at training camp. Don't know if he can steal GR starting job, bu it's not far away. If not, I hope he goes to Toledo as starter.

Yzerman wanted him to get challenged, so don't see him going back to easy position at WHL power-house team, where he can log easy wins with low amount of shots against. It's men's league now, and it just depend how to find the right level with a starting job.

Goalie/Co-Vid. Carey Price had about one hundred more junior games. We are not seeing this guy for a few years. We have to wait and wait some more. The guy needs games, games ,games. I don't care where he plays them this year.

He's looked alright, I wouldn't overhype a couple of ~30 minute showings in practice environments. If he can put together a couple of good exhibition games in a row there will be more cause for discussion.

So the Wings posted an interview with Cossa on twitter... who's going to take the hit for the team and listen to it?

For full disclosure, it is Art Regner conducting the interview...

For full disclosure, it is Art Regner conducting the interview...

-Cossa is very confident in himself and likes to take it day by day.
-He doesn't overthink things
-He spent the summer in Detroit training
-Been biliting since he was 13, (which explains his maturity)
-Still doesn't know where he's playing this year (management decision), wants to play at the highest level he can. -But he has been talking with the goalie coach in GR.
-They were working on technique while training during the summer.
- Spent lots of time with Ned during the summer.
-He's been learning lots from the other goalies.
-Sounds like he wouldn't hate going back to juniors, feels that he can still prove more there.
-He knows he has lots to do to improve his game.
-He knows he has to prove himself in the pros.
-He believes skating is the #1 skill.
-Recognizes the challenges of being a big goalie. Holes and keeping tight (lol)
-He switched to an NHL spec/legal chest protector during the summer.
-Art is amazed by how fast NHL shots are
-Cossa says Dustin Schwartz (oilers goalie coach) has the hardest shot he's ever seen
-Says Raymond has the best shot and Chirot has the most power to his shot.
-Wings don't do off-ice cardio testing
-Cossa likes school, science guy??
-Art is going to make me punch a wall

(ps sorry if the notes are all out of order, that's just how art asked them)

Savage with an assist in the Miami opener.

Even though it doesn't count officially... Kienan Draper with an assist in UM's exhibition win.

Red Savage gets his season underway this evening... #1 Center

Good to see him on the top line. He also had the most faceoffs for Miami so probably up there in ice time too.

Zito with 2 assists for Niagara last night, and Bednar 22/24 in a 2-1 OT loss.

Noah Warren played 22 minutes for the ducks the other night while the rest of their prospects have been sent back. Ducks fans and their coaching staff are raving about him. I said it on draft day but passing on him while he was available was an atrocious mistake. We will really really regret that one. I guess I gotta see what Dylan James does first though, when is his first game?

Noah Warren was definitely on my wishlist for prospects. I'm bummed we didn't get him but I'm not really mad at the Dylan James pick. USHL rookies of the year historically have a pretty high success rate as far as prospects go.
