Bunch of bull. Last years team played atrociously the first 30 games and Shesty saved their bacon. If he didn't you would be saying the same thing last year. The team is actually playing better this year. The only difference is that Shesty doesn't have a .940 save %.
Also a historically low shooting percentage.

It's not going to last. Better now than in April and May.

It's frustrating losing games like this but I tend to agree.

That formula still doesn't bode well for the playoffs though.

My hope this season was we'd be able to win games without Shesterkin being historically good. It seems like that might not happen.

Did the team played the first 2 games of the season said f*** it I'll see you in April?

Gallant makes one good decision (demoting Kreider) than follows it multiple bad decisions.

Way too much entitlement by the leadership/core or this team. They know what it takes to win (game 5-7 vs Pitt, game 6-7 vs Canes, games 1-3 vs Tampa) but just refuse to consistently do it because it takes work and energy.

I keep thinking about the Kings because they're the last zombie-slow team to win the Cup and we're just about that slow.

The year the Kings missed the playoffs in the middle of that run (think it was 14-15), they had like 15 OT losses.

We probably wanna stay out of there as much as possible. 3v3 is not where slow teams are gonna wanna play.

Shesty helped too but I was talking about specifically coming back from games over and over. That takes more than Shesty.
He was making the big saves to give them the opportunity to come back. This year he is not. They are also not in big holes this year either. 5 straight games tied going into the 3rd period. I believe they are 3-1-1 in those games.

I love it... every kid we draft is the next savior

He's not... just like everyone else.

One guy isn't going to galvanize a team w Shesty, Bread, Fox and Zbad on it

The systemic neutering of our youth has to end before we accomplish shit
Not saying he's the savior or the answer, but he puts pucks in the net and has an edge to his game not unlike Brendan Gallagher whom the post I quoted was referencing to.

Those vets sometimes deserve the benefit of the doubt even if they have bad games or bad periods because they have proven it before. I mean we are only 13 games into an 82 game marathon.

If Igor got run over by the Southbound F, Halak would take us to .500. Any notions of us drafting that 10 year old are ridiculous.
Everyone's gushing about Bedard and Fantilli and the start he's having in the NCAA, but Michkov is #1 on my board. Best Russian prospect since Ovechkin and is basically a Patrick Kane clone that I would say even has a better shot than Kane.

Bedard has been dominant in juniors but has high bust potential, IMO.

Kakko was asked -by Quinn, this is not a conspiracy theory- to work on his all-around game first. He did, to pretty devastating effect, and the offense is starting to grow.

Chytil was a longer term project but he's becoming an integral player for us and is even good at faceoffs now.

It's just Lafreniere at this point who really hasn't shown anything and at a certain point we have to wonder how much he just is what he is.

In his defense, I REALLY hate that line he's on.

I like Michkov a lot but I would never pick him first unless the situation in Russia is resolved. Too many questionmarks.

This team clearly has a hangover from the run last year, but after a month it's time for it to shake off and get going. This is on Turk and the "leadership group" of this team to get things going bc another few weeks of this and you're starring at a situation that you're chasing a wildcard spot down the stretch.

Yup I see it for sure but even if you expect the guys to get better and I know they will.

there are other issues. We put a lot of faith in kravtsov and Jones. Neither have shown us they are up for the challenge.

Miller I thought would be shot out of a cannon to start. He’s done literally nothing. Lafreniere the same. Chytil gets hurt loses 6 games will take him a few more to get going.

There are issues and unlike last year the rest of the metro isn’t going to let us have it. The devils islanders are right back in the mix. Carolina hasn’t lost a step and I know Pittsburgh will figure it out. Even Philly is winning
