Nice to see Froggett getting some more starts down the stretch, first in the Division is all but clinched and It will be hard to catch up to the Knights. So second in the Conference is a pretty good bet on where eWill finish Come playoffs. Not wearing out Costanzo and using the whole lineup is only going to help us in the first round. Should be trying to round out our game as a squad and work on bad habits.

Sting usually always come in buzzing and hard to play against. Not expecting a light match ever against them and i hooe our team does not take them lightly. Was a good dominant pair Of games last Friday/saturday after a lackluster effort last Wednesday, I hope to see another strong game and playing the right way, Froggett needs to lock in and continue to prove he is a reliable backup option in net. Time will tell but I'm hopeful for a good hockey game tonight!!

Go Spitfires!!

Maillet has also looked really good against the Spits this season. Was a stud over in Sarnia and looked good in relief last week/couple weeks ago.

I wish the best for Cam Allen and his situation long term, he’s a quality player. Got a bit of a media circus out of it, from an opposing side, but wonder if the other guys in the room are impacted by the situation or if it’s business as usual. I’d bet on Windsor to finish two, but hopeful we can contend for that first spot. Otherwise the last couple of weeks, I could see some coasting, and that’s the last thing I want before the playoffs.

Dominating win. There is a very good chance we play Sarnia in the first round. Could also be Flint who I prefer to avoid. No idea how they don't at least have a winning record. Spits would have no problems with Sarnia in the first round.

Yeah going to be plenty of meaningless games down the stretch here. No chance of Saginaw catching us so it will be sort of boring, one more home game against London and none against Kitchener, zzzz.

I guess it will be cool to see Greentree and Protas going for 50 goals and 100 points.

A few thoughts...

- I kind of expected Sarnia to put up a fight. The first two games were close so this one had that potential.
- Two goals from Garden, two from Morneau... they need that. Protas and Greentree will do their thing but secondary scoring is important.
- Speaking of Morneau - the kid can throw. Just don't do it often, please.
- Froggett played well, though didn't have to do a ton. I don't fault him on either goal. It's tough to make a second save when you're sitting on your butt making the first save. He played fine and I'm confident when he's in goal.
- We keep talking about 60 min efforts. That was a 60 min effort.
- Eichler with a fight, sort of. He hits Karimov hard, who's down for a bit. He then gets up, sees Abraham there, thinks it was Abe who hit him, so goes after Abe. Eichler comes over, corrects the misinformation, and they start to go. Left after left... and Karimov is done. Whoops. I don't like that Eichler got the instigator package but it is what it is.
- Cristoforo is getting creative in the offensive zone. Another beauty helper tonight. He's doubled his high goal totals and needs six helpers to beat that, too. He's also a +44, tops in the league. Tough to argue his progression.
- Props to the Spits for not getting suckered into anything in the third. A lot more could have happened but they avoided. Big game tomorrow in Saginaw then Family Day at home against OS. You need points right now, not unnecessary PIM.

Pretty dominant effort by Windsor vs Sarnia last night, especially the 11 point game from Greentree (4),Protas(4),Morneau (3), win 8-2 and get only 1 goal on the PP
Interesting stat Spits have scored
18 goals last 3 games and have allowed only 6 and 5 of them were on the PP for the opposition and only 1 against 5 on 5 in those 3 games, guess you can't complain about the D with that stat.
Pretty good you score 8 goals with no points or goals from Abraham, Davis and Spellacy, plus Belchetz sat out his 2nd game of 2 of a suspension .
Excellent game from Garden getting 2 goals his 1st 2 goal effort of his season.
Solid game from Froggett in goal.
On to Saggy tonight should be interesting.

I’ve liked Garden, hopefully this gets some momentum rolling for him. I really like our 08’ group, and I’m curious to see the additions to it next season.

I enjoyed both fights, seemed like Morneau was more deserving of an instigator than Eichler was from my seat. I’m fine with the refs letting them play, but it felt like they were missing some obvious stuff. Sarnia bench was a bit hot within the first 10 minutes, and I believe rightfully so.

I think both teams can agree that they didn’t love the officiating, luckily we put up a good chunk early and it was a non-factor.

(If my math is off please correct me) but I believe our magic number is down to 8. A combination of 8 games with Spits wins and Saginaw (regulation) losses secures the division, which means that number can drop to 6 tonight.

Good game. Refs non calls let things fester to be decided on the ice. How they miss the Protas crosscheck to the face?? Great to see Garden pop a couple. Hicks likely the hardest shot from the point of our team. Great future with these youngsters. Go Spirs!!
We really do have some great up and coming talent. Next year we should be in the hunt as well.

I have just got done watching last night's game against Sarnia on CHL replay. Ever since the London game after their poor start, I have noticed a change in the Spits defensive play, they readjusted their defensive side of their game, the result has been explicable in a very positive way ever since.

When you put a lot of speed going forward on the attack, it generates havoc in the offensive zone, but when you are returning to the D zone with the same intensity, it also creates pressure and havoc to their opponent's forwards as well, making them rushing their plays. Seeing this from the Spits with regularity now, just in time for playoff preparation, Windsor will be a dangerous force to deal with come the end of the season. The key is to keep the steady intensity on both side of the puck

I too wish the best for Cam Allen. There are a lot of young adults that make a bad decision. The problem is he is in the lime light and unfortunately held to a higher standard. The OHL is a development league where teams have to convince the parents of young teens to allow them to leave home and reside away. The league must have a strong code of conduct for players to ensure the safety of all. In my opinion the OHL must send a very strong message that this behavior will not be tolerated or taken lightly. In fact, not only should the player be dealt with but the team should also be held accountable. London has had a few negative off ice incidents with no repercussions. This may hurt one persons career a bit but hopefully will stop this from happening again. In the case of Cam Allen, he is signed to a pro contract so the NHL will have programs to assist players with substance or mental health issues..

Did not watch last night but I see they continue to rack up the points.
I'm going to likely watch it later on this weekend.
For me the more important game is tonight. I'm sure they will remember their loss at home to Saginaw and hopefully a much better response. Can not take Saginaw lightly.
Hockey is all about momentum and confidence. This game will be big for both teams on this front. Be safe.

Spits must achieve 15 points to be clear of Saginaw, whether that is a loss by them or a win by the Spits. Yes 8 games would cover that spread but with loser points in play I will track the 15 points and counting.

I agree completely. Sure, 20 year old kids will make mistakes. I made mine.

But, that doesn’t mean to forget about it. As mentioned he’s also in the limelight and his decisions have impacted himself, and with the media coverage it’s got in Ontario and in the states, linked to the Knights, OHL, CHL… there should be consequences. I’m not saying this should prevent him from ever seeing the NHL, but I think it should be addressed seriously. This isn’t some random kid at university, he’s a highly ranked NHL prospect, playing in the CHL, representing his team, community, the league, etc. It’s great to see all the positive publicity this league gets for community participation, and unfortunately for every team trying to recruit, this is a big mistake that’s received a high amount of negative press.

I'd match the Protas, Greentree, Morneau line against Saginaw's top line with Misa, Russian #25.
On the PK, have Spellacy take away cross ice pass to 25.
Start Joey.
No omelettes for pre-game meal...team budget cannot afford to splurge.

You're welcome...
I'll show myself out.

What's the term Walters has used multiple times recently - "contain." You can't stop Misa/Chernykov (sp?), but if you can hold them to 4pts each, you're doing okay. That's an offensively insane club. I just hope it's close tonight.

There is a very valuable lesson to be learned from the Super Bowl Champs......Defense wins championships ! Playing a real tight Defensive game and holding teams to low shot totals is the path for Windsor. They can score but have to commit to intense D.

The interesting thing to me is the parallel to Ben Johnson. Johnson's case was more heinous IMO, and it happened during the off season. To my knowledge, Johnson never missed a game due to suspension. He was found guilty after his OHL career was completed and served jail time.

The OHL has suspended Allen but he has never had a trial. While I don't disagree with the suspension, it is inconsistent to Johnson's case,

Windsor at Saginaw, Costanzo starts,Belchetz is back in,Mathurin is out on the D probably from shot blocking last night vs Sarnia especially the 1 shift where he got nailed twice with a hard shot,Spits going with 12F,6D,Costello, Winegard and Outwater the other scratches.
