And thats why I wanted them to call ppl up lol. This team looks dead tonight. Everyone is getting outmatched and they're playing very weak hockey. The second I saw there were going 11/7 I had a bad feeling. Good luck in the 3rd but you're gonna need a miracle to win this one tbh.

(P.S never wear the St. Clair stuff again lol)

WINDSOR
NB came in inspired, skating and forechecked us silly. Spits look like they came from an all you can eat pasta eating contest and stopped at the cannibis store on the way to the game. NB played all 5 deep in thier zone all game knowing we have no shot threat from the point. Yes, some pushback late but only because we created a odd man advantage pulling Joey. JC caused his own demise on their 3 and 4th goals. 2 and 5 didn't help with Cristo out of position trying to draw attention from being rubbef out in the corner and Walton lazy stick check allowing his man a rebound second shot. 1st goal happened while stragglers were still sitting down so I missed that one. Checking must have been optional tonight. Hoping this was a one off night and not a lazy pattern setting in. In 2nd place currently in the west now and could be in 3rd by Monday if London wins a couple and we don't tighten our laces. Show us that a good team bounces back!! Go Spits!!

That was a bad game. In the first period they seemed disinterested. At least they did not quit in the 3rd. J.C. gave up two very bad goals but he has been so good all season, you can't be upset. Bowler needs to acquire a solid d-man, if its costly, so be it, they have a lot of picks. I don't want to name names but there is a d-man that played tonight who should not be on the squad.

Greentree on that 5 on 3... He took 3 shots in a row, with all three being blocked. You gotta pass the puck more on a 5 on 3 instead of taking dumb shots with a defender right in front of you. They should bump Outwater up a line, he works every shift and is collecting points. Belchetz having a dominant tournament for Canada, be nice to get him back next week.

Not a big deal, it's how you rebound after the bad games. Saginaw will be a hard one, they just became the first squad to lose against the Petes who we host on Sunday.

Some thoughts...

Goals against:

1. Nobody was right on this one. Walton and Eichler let the guy get by them, then Costanzo lets in a big rebound, and the trailing Spitfires didn't get him, either. An ugly way to start.
2. Cristoforo with the puck behind the goal, gets rubbed out and appears to be hurt. Play continues, two NB guys at the top of the crease overwhelm Costanzo and the D.
3. Costanzo doesn't know where to play it. Goes glove side, right to the NB guy, who passes out front. Guy there has an open cage. Just a bad play all around.
4. A very slick move by Van Steelsel, going around the D-man, then cutting in front of Costanzo. Looked like Costanzo went to poke but missed and VS, while sitting down, taps it in. If you don't poke, you could probably stop it, but it's a beauty move, regardless.
5. VS gets behind Walton, gets the puck, two whacks at it glove side and it's in. Walton was soft on him, Costanzo should have had the post... not a great goal to allow.

The Good:

- The last 10 minutes? They played regular Spitfires' hockey there, getting the puck on goal, opportunities, and skating like their game depended on it.
- Morneau and Greentree looked okay for much of the game.

The bad:

- A goal 19-seconds in, then two more to end the first, can't happen.
- A few defenders were too soft on the puck or left Costanzo hanging dry.
- Costanzo didn't have a great game, from the turnover to the hugging of the post.
- You can't have a 5-on-3 for 1:30+ and not score at least once. They felt hesitant, like they were waiting for the perfect play.
- 3 shots in the first? Unacceptable. Credit to NB for defence but...

This is one of those games that happens when you think talent can beat hard work. NB showed them how to play and it's a lesson.
