Nice bounce back by the Spits,Costanzo certainly on fire now 10-1 on the season, has allowed only 3 goals his last 3 starts,2 shutouts this season so far after 1 the last 3 years of play.
Dman Connor Walton gets credit for game winner as he notched 1st goal, his 2nd of the season, also 2nd game winner of the season and last year he scored only 1 goal in 64 games and that was a game winner too.
He also added an assist tonight doubling his point total on the season.
2 point game by Abraham 1G,1A.
Other then going 0-5 on the PP a great night for the guys.
Looking forward to the rematch Sunday here at 4
Go Spits.
Meant to mention Costanzo still #1 in goaltending now 1.73 average with a .938 save per centage quite the improvement
from last season so far.

Windsor 's special teams doing fine, despite going 0-5 tonight they still sit at #1 overall with 31% effiency while the PK which went 5 for 5 tonight has jumped to 6th from 11th in that category 80.2% effiency.
Considering Windsor has played 8 of their 1st 14 on the road their stats are pretty impressive, here's that continues moving forward.

Any specific player you guys want the Spits to acquire or could see them aquiring? I definitely think a defenseman would be nice. Gibson from Soo would be a good get

Jmo but don't really see the Spits going after any " high priced " players this year and Gibson would be one of those types of players.
Someone like Petrovski from Owen Sound would fit the bill and would likely be here for 2 years. Would not be cheap but likely a better price than someone like Gibson.

I didn't see/hear any of Friday's game as I was stateside near Buffalo with plans. I did see they got a shutout, though, and Walton with a helluva knucklepuck! I'll have to watch that on the desktop tonight or tomorrow!

Game day Windsor hosting Flint this afternoon at 4.05,chance to sweep the 2 game set, after the 3-0 shutout win by goalie Joey Costanzo Friday night at Flint .
Last night at home Flint again was shutout in a 4-0 loss to the Sault Greyhounds.
Nathaniel Day did not play for the Firebirds last night, newcomer Noah Bender did and allowed the 4 goals in their loss.
Makes me wonder Flint was saving Day for today, also I would hope and expect Windsor to start Costanzo today,on a nice roll from a goaltending last 3 Gamez only 3 goals allowed, best goalie in the league average wise,1.73 only 1 under 2 goals against, best save per centage .939,most wins 10 by 2 for the nearest competitor, has not been worked hard last 2 outings, only 21 shots the last game vs Flint,12 the last 2 periods, only 20 shots vs the Hounds the game before 6 the last 2 periods vs Hounds,Day in between games 1 day off no travel, despite lack of work for Carter Froggett lately gotta go with the hot hand imo.
Opinions?

Congrats to Spitfire prospect goalie Jake Windbiel for picking up his 1st shutout for LaSalle last night in B action on the road.
16 year old playing very well, averaging 3.11 in 8 games, only 9 goals against his last 4 outings has played 8 games,911 save percentage 5-2-1 record.
The other Spits goalie prospect of note 17 year old Michael Newlove is averaging 2.69 in 17 games played with Georgetown with a 924 save per centage
2 excellent goalie prospects for Windsor will be interesting how these 2 will fit in down the road that's for sure.

Agree with you 💯 on starting JC. Each game this weekend was separated by a day off. 3 games every weekend the rest of the month and a back to back every weekend with a 3 in 3 as well will give Froggett liklely 4 starts. 1 each week.

JC holding it down back there for us. Confidence is clearly back, helps when the coaching staff makes this team play a 200 foot game as well, a lot more support for joey then last year fosure & hope he gets rewarded after that shutout with another start.

Flint could be a bit tired being the third game in 2 and a half days, hope the Spits can take advantage with a strong game to finish this weekend off good.

Go spits go!!

Forward Connor Clattenburg for Flint will be serving his 2nd and last game of his 2 game suspension for head checking a Spits player on Friday night.

Only players that will be back next year IMO. Next year is the go for it year. This year the goal could be to win a round and get some valuable playoff experience but next year you push all the chips in.

Not sure you have the assets for Henry Mews however he wants out of Ottawa and I’m sure they will trade him at some point this year. He’s an 06 RHD that is a ppg player and I’m sure the asking price would be very high with likely an 08 involved (not happening with you guys obviously lol) if not an 08 then an 07 (again- can’t see this one happening lol)
