WINDSOR
Were all allowed our opinions. Windsor is not a city that will support a soft team! Soft hockey has never been equated with Windsor unitl BB! Total defensive madness was not a trademark of Windsor hockey, until BB! Players and parents absolutely hating the gm, again only since BB. I could go on but im wasting my breath! He’d have been fired in most cities by now!
Well I agree the Spits have been soft since the golden days, I can't blame Bowler for all of it. Savard was an offensive mentality coach at all costs. GM 's obtain plauers to match the coaching style. We all know in the real world defense wins championships. While the interim coaches are trying to get the players to be responsible, the make up of our D core is and will be an issue. If I was the GM before next seadon starts, Woodall, Walton, Manzo and maybe Eichler would stay depending on the import availability through draft and otherwise. Up front, Smith, Morneau, Abraham, Zhugin, Martin, Greenwell, Struthers would all be out. Really only Abraham brungs any value on a return. I'm sure once Greentree is named Captain Saturday, Abraham will go back intp full sulking, victim mode. Hope not for him. Smith has the potential if his effort equals 💯 every game. Maybe if DJ is next HC he then stays.

Talk to some folks close to the team, your mind might be changed… I personally have spoken to players, parents, billets and others close to the team, hes not a well liked person! such an egregious error in a HC this year, massive failure last year. A team that gets pushed around and mocked regularly is not fan friendly. Yep he restocked the cupboards well. But why was that needed? Because he screwed up last year judging his teams compete/talent level. If Most of the folks here knew half of what goes on i think you’d be much more upset.

I get it. People want them to succeed. However, if the club didn't have five players (say one or two), the talk would be about how they can't draft right, how whoever didn't make the list wasn't good enough. Now, they have five guys on the list and we have to wait until they're drafted to go "yeah, that's pretty awesome"? Nah. What happens if they get drafted? Does the talk goes to "okay, but can they make it in the NHL?" Right now, it's step-by-step. The 2022 Spits draft is looking pretty darn solid and now four guys are on the NHL radar (plus Eichler). I think most of us would take that every season at this point.

I appreciate what Abraham brings to the team but Greentree has been the clear choice all season, outside of maybe Christopoulos and Peer. He leads on the ice, shows maturity off the ice, and seems to be the guy in charge. Abraham could easily get an A, along with a few others, but this was the right move.
