WINDSOR
He is leaning in for the hit before the kid even turns. This is one of the boarder line penalties. Players need to stop turning the last second before they injure themselves seriously. At the speed they are going there isn’t anything Morneau can really do. Problem is these days is clear hits from behind are just getting called boarding. They need to make hits from behind a minimum of 4 min to maybe cutdown on this stuff.
Agree with you players speed nowadays cause some purposeful and some by accident turning their back to the defender. That doesn't stop the penalty from being called.

Refs missed that cross check on faceoff
Big time

Big time
He got away with an illegal hit later that wasn't called. Refs evened it out..

I will praise Cristoforo's shot blocking. It is the best on the team. What puzzles me is anyone who is brave enough to block shots shouldn't be afraid to physically engage players in front of the net.

No physical play at all.

That was the effort you'd hope for, just not the result. Nine times out of 10, Windsor comes away with the two points so nothing to really hang their heads about. They're 10 points out of the playoffs, though, which isn't good.

Let's hope for no major suspensions from the earlier incident.

I wouldn’t go that far saying windsor wins these games 9 out of 10 times. I’m sure you have said that a couple times already this year lol.

Great effort tonight. I think it is an automatic 2 for 2nd fight same stoppage.

You outshoot a team 34-16, you *should* win nine times out of 10. That's not unreasonable.

It sounded like Eichler was the only Spitfire to get the GM. Hopefully the OHL site is updated soon.

They have won 14 of 47 games. Yes this performance was much improved but its a results oriented business. 3rd game in 4 nights for Sarnia and they got the extra point. Moved ahead of Flint as well. Saying this performance wins 9 out of 10 times when they have probably performed this well 10-15 times all year is crazy.

Melee penalties announced.

Morneau gets 2 boarding, 5 fight
Struthers 2 rough
Eichler 5/GM for 2nd fight

Sarnia loses Moses for 5/GM, too. Way got the rough. Kostuch got instigator package on Morneau.

Joe Monette baby. What a gongshow. Created a goal by being in the way. Missed calls. Bad calls. When u get Sting fans chanting u suck u know it's gotten silly cause we never make noise 😂

Greentree is an absolute monster. 1 man wrecking crew. Scary to think what he could be next yr and at 19 if he's back..

Probably deserved a better result, allowing just 16 shots but didn't get the two points, that's quite rare. Cole Davis a bright spot, another two points.

It was a successful weekend in the standings if you're hoping for the 1st pick. If the season were to end today, they would have a 40% chance at the lottery, and the 3rd pick in the import draft. Let's hope an American team isn't in the draft lottery as they always win it.

Yup. I’ll take 75% of what they call “headshots” or “blindsiding” nowadays over being boarded every time. They need to address it before someone gets Travis Roy’d. That being said, kids gotta be taught to be smarter about protecting themselves too.

Assuming Windsor doesn't make the playoffs, they'll have a top-four pick. I got bored... here are their top four picks since day one.

2021 - Meidema - fourth
(Cuylle was third overall in 2018 - does it count? Yes and no)
2015 - Gabe Vilardi - second
2007 - Taylor Hall - second
1996 - Kip Brennan - fourth
1994 - Glenn Crawford - fourth
1993 - Ed Jovanovski - second
1990 - Todd Warriner - third
1976 - Jim Fox - first (their only 1st overall pick, from what I can tell).

IMHO……the Spits were competitive last night, I’ll give them that. However that only got them the kissing your sister point. No more games with Sarnia or the Ice Dogs. Abraham was cross checked near the end…thought it should have been called but perhaps Abraham (a diver of some repute) enhanced it a tad. The sting goalie made the difference, he was outstanding.

A few thoughts. ( made the trip up yesterday)

After the warm up Christoforo and Moses had a last man off the ice duel. Linesman made Christoforo go off first. Then 30 seconds later Christoforo came back out and jumped on the ice and then back off again. Liked the competitive spirit from him.

Spits played hard. They are just not deep enough.

Abraham should never have an A. He quits on plays and actually dumped the puck to Sarnia during the 3 on 3. Never seen a player do that before.

The Eichler hit was not a hit. Happened right in front of me. After review the refs saw the same thing and pulled him from the box. That was the play that set the Sarnia fans off because the refs got the call wrong! So apparently after that the refs could do no right. Yes they missed calls but again apparently only when it happened to Sarnia. Gotta love junior hockey fans.

Loved the Davis goal! What a deke to score. I keep forgetting he is a rookie.

Greentree had an off game but Sarnia was really keying on him. He's going to see more of that.

No names but there is a number of Spits players that are roster fillers. This team has no depth. And it shows. Going into next year this will be a problem with just too many holes to fill. Be safe.

Wassilyn watch continues. Now 10 points out and the gap grows every week. Glad to see Niagara put some wins together.

I would agree with a lot of this. The stuff we see from Abraham on a night to night basis shouldn't be tolerated. Greentree was ok but like you said they can dedicate most of the attention to him. This is probably one of my bigger concerns going into next year. You just can't go to the hockey store and find 3-4 top 6 forwards. Greentree is a great player with a lot of potential but his supporting cast before the deadline was quite productive as well. It would really help if someone like Spellacy had a very good final 20 games. After that 5 point performance he has 1 point in his last 8 games.

Bowler needs to have an absolute lights out offseason if he's even given that chance. I say that because if the team struggles and a player like Greentree continues to tear it up you may have to think about moving him in order to avoid what happened with Johnston. Johnston would have stuck around because the team was good but in a different situation you would have to ask those questions about Greentree.
