It's a shame that the Spits are setting up a poor image for future players, families and agents. Even if the team gets the first pick, maybe Wassilyn will refuse to play in this environment! (London destination?)

If true sucks to lose Zito, but all in all it tells me he doesnt love this game enough to succeed so good luck to him in his future away from hockey. Big part of hockey is adversity and how to overcome it and find ways to do good in a bad situation. Seems like he cant handle it, nothing in hockey is handed to you and theres ups and downs. Spitfires unfortunately in a down year but if this news is correct it will help the younger player play more and potentially help our chance at a top 1-3 picks, players look to be top end talent.

As for the game tonight, petes coming in for a 3 in 3 but have momentum after knocking off the knights, ultimately im expecting the spitfires to find a way to lose but hope to be surprised with a good all around effort and the win.

Go Spits!!

I used to work there. Had lots of direct working contacts with Mr BB. He is not well liked and has a nickname that is justified. He has made lots of bad decisions but in the case of Mr. Zito he can't be blamed for that. I will continue to call him out or defend him on a case by case basis. Not going to blanket like or dislike someone . I would at least like to hear the justification why in this case he made a bad decision.

I know as well as many others on this board that he is not well liked and won't be disappointed if at some point he moves on but for now he is it. So I will look at his body of work as it happens and pass my opinion from there. Be safe.

Hindsight is 20-20. Nobody posted this was a bad move until Zito pulled the pin. Who is really at fault here?
I just don't believe it had be Zito. He hadn't played a competitive game since April. It's a different position and this isn't anything against Toure but I think calling up Manzo letting him get 25 OHL games, gaining experience and instead of starting his draft eligible year at square one. They can lose games with Toure or you can lose with the kids. I would prefer the latter because losing with vets who are done in 8 weeks doesn't serve a purpose imo.

I think it is a bit of both. You need to let the young guys play but you need somebody there to play the difficult minutes and be a mentor to them. The Toure deal was required because the Soo deal did not work out.

Now if you want to point out a bad deal then the Soo trade was just that.

You get Zito for zero costs. What GM would not do that deal?

Ya but a 4th from Niagara is worth a 3rd from anyone else, lol. Still net zero trade or close to it.
I believe it is missy 4th we got for 2024 from nia for zito.

Either way this Zito deal imo didn’t pan out. Started out great but if you got to promise a player things to get him just to come is it really worth it when the team isn’t good and it an OA player.

Don’t quite understand why Zitos first game they had him with Zugin and Spellacy and they combined for 13 points and then we never see them together again. Is that strange or is it just me?
Coaching decisions...
