and my point is how do you know they are the high end kids?
I know nothing much of them. I didn't write it. It is a list by a fairly espectable website . Just like NHL Central scouting players go and down the list every week. You have a different list, please feel free to share it. One more one less on the list doesn’t change where several higher end prospects are playing. The entire point was make sure they will liklely report before you make a selection.

Miedema was ranked 13th the year we took him 4th. We could have had players like Barkey, Rehkoph, Barlow, Bertucci to name a few. At that age there is a lot of projection and players picked for size over talent. Miedema is a perfect example.

I get it. If you don't trust German Spifire than don't. He is a video scout for Mckeens hockey who are well respected in the industry. I've seen 2 other scouting reports with very similar positioning. So you have better information than please share it. They had Barlow, Lardis, Rehkoph all well ahead of Miedema. Hummm

Saturday's game the squad did not play a bad game, just didn't capitalize on chances. Today they were outplayed for large parts of the game but received stellar goaltending and made the most of their chances.

Each game I watch I like Zhugin more and more, he is quite the skater. Mancini is solid defensively. Hard to find anyone who doesn't like that trade with Saginaw, considering Bowler also got 2 2nd's. Woodall looks really good out there on the blue line and Cristoforo has been solid recently.

Regarding Peer, it's not worth trading him unless you can get a 2nd in return. He's on pace for about 90 points.
Agree with pretty much everything that you wrote about especially about last night's game,Windsor had a great 1st period, then tapered off before finishing off the Firebirds, unlike the night before where they were the better team but lost, shows things happen both ways with this game.
Spits now 3-1 in their last 4 and as mentioned 5-3 in their last eight, with improvements in every area.
In the last 4 games the Spits are 4-12 on the PP-33%,and on the PK,16-16-100% on the PK,pretty outstanding I would, in fact they are 18-18,in the last5 games in this category, last PP goal against was in Ottawa 6 games ago.
Goals against last 4 games stands at 8,2.00 per game, and Costanzo has allowed 4 of them in the 1 loss Saturday vs Oshawa, while in the last 3 starts Michelone has allowed just 4 goals, a 1.33 average and save percentage of .959,along with a record of 3-0.
Through the last 8 games Spits have allowed 21 goals plus 4 empty netters and the 2 goalies have an average combined 2.63,Costanzo 3.50 in 4,and Michelone 1.75 in his 4 starts.
PP is 6-23,with 26.1 % effiency and the PK is 95.6 ,22-23 effiency a major reason for teams recent success
Coaching no doubt has made a difference with this team, from going 0-8 before the dismissal of Smith and departure of the others,to going 5-3 in the current 8,and that's with the 1st 5 of recent 8 on the road.
Oliver Peer certainly has brought his game to a new level,9 points in his last 4,and 14 points in his last 8 including 10 goals, last year he had 22 goals in 63 games, this year he is at 18 goals in 29 games played.
Talk about a great free agent signing.
While things haven't been perfect certainly during the past 8 games, the dramatic improvement in most areas, goaltending, defense, special team play both PP and Pk,overall commitment and attention to detail unlike most of the 1st 21 games they played.
Michelone, Mancini, Zhugin, Peer,Greentree, Maillet, Davis, are leading the way with increasing help from the likes of Christoforo, Woodall, Walton.
Hopefully the 04 guys such Abraham,Smith,Toms and 18 year old Costanzo can put their games in gear,Abraham and Costanzo have showed improvement, lets see if others can improve as well.
Looking forward to the coming week in the games vs London at home Thursday and the final game at Owen Sound Saturday before y the Christmas break.

That was made quite a while ago, so I’d throw some caution with those rankings today. I have other things I’m working on now so the OHL draft isn’t my main priority so I haven’t had much time to update that on EP.

I’ll probably pick it back up near draft day but as of now those rankings are ~6 months out of date.

Kitchener trades with Kingston…

> KGN receives Roman Schmidt (o/a)
> KIT receives SAG 2nd rd 2026 and WSR 3rd rd 2027
If KITCHENER is now looking to fill that O/A spot we have an O/A scorer that might fit in.

nothing to do with the list itself.

1. its not THE official elite prospect list as you said, its just a list of many
2. nothing to do with the poster, but look at the accuracy of any list, its incredibly subjective. i was at silverstick this weekend, everyone was talking about a kid not on this list as a top 5 pick. everyone was suggesting the list that had wyatt johnston as a 2nd round pick was THE list, look how that turned out.

people forget these list are made by people who havent really scouting in the ohl and dont really know what teams look for. great free content, just dont make it out to be the rule or anything.

Rangers still have 3 OAs. Martin out injured. How about an import? They need one more.:)

I did realize you still have 3 O/A left but didn’t know the quality. If the Rangers are looking at next year then obviously Peer isn’t a fit. I suspect the Spits will stick with our Imports.

I'm not opposed to dealing Zhugin, but I'd want a young talent in return.
I agree but I’d rather get a 3rd or 5th round pick.

Budnick just went for distant 2nd, 3rd, 3rd, all 2026 and beyond. Windsor already sent three picks for Outwater, who's less polished but younger. If I'm dealing Zhugin for picks, I'm looking at a 3rd in 24 and a 4th in 26, OR, a 4th and a player. Otherwise, why deal him right now?

Had to move one and decided on Metow over Schmidt. They were not moving Martin or Sop. Interesting that their backend takes another hit after moving Hamara.

And not a lot of assets to work with if they go all in this year.

Which teamm has a quality import to deal? We could deal Zhugin and have to 2 picks next import draft if Eichler is not retained .

Tough take on Eichler. Was not expecting much when he came but seems to be improving. If he keeps showing improvement then I could see the Spits keeping him. Can't see them keeping Zhugin for an OA year. They will have 1 high pick for sure but by the time their next pick rolls around I think it will be worth keeping Eichler.

About a month ago, Eichler said that it was taking time to adjust to the OHL's game because of a serious difference from European/Czechia hockey. He seems to be adjusting better as time goes along, too. If he can cut down on the minor penalties and still play physical, while chipping in a point or two here and there, he's going to make decisions hard next summer.
