6-3 for Kitchener final….better effort but…that’s 4 wins in 21 games…Logic says when the Badder heads out to Peterborough Wednesday there will be a number of new faces on board .

WINDSOR
Well 3-1 Spits early I'm the 3rd and the Rangers woke up and buried them. Froggett. 808 % How about the no show players Maillet and Smith? Maillet non existent. A OA leader- NOT. This game hurts more than the Attack game. Had a chance. The Rangers only 15 shots through 2 periods just let me know they came in here expecting a easy game and cranked the wick in the 3rd. Good notes Cole Davis is stealing the show along with Greentree. I'd draft Davis before Cristoforo based on skill and getting to the dirty areas all the time even though undersized frame. Definitely not undersized heart and effort.

Soooo. Long chat with a front office guy close enough to have some ideas. He stated, windsor is in a tailspin, players have in fact asked to be moved, Savages are basically letting BB run the whole show as they are preoccupied with other interests. Claims 100% team is for sale! Stated this team is in for years of hurt unless this is addressed very quickly. Windsor went from choice destination to im not going there seemingly overnight!! He sounded as shocked and disappointed as local fans are. He stated jr hockey in general is in a but of turmoil and this mess hurts the entire league not just windsor people.

The coach better be fired before the next game, this is just pathetic. Now on the road for 5 games, this losing streak is going to hit 15 games. Seriously I doubt if this team will be able to win 10 games. Here are some of the numbers. Outscored 34-18 in their last four home games. Outscored 28-8 in the 3 losses this week. This is beyond unacceptable. 121 goals conceded on the season.

You had 5,500 people pay money and make time attending tonight's game. There is 3 fan bases in the OHL that can get 5,500 fans to watch one of the worst teams in history, Windsor, London, and Kitchener. They will completely ruin a great fan base if they don't make changes to the coaching staff starting this week.

Oh and I will keep posting this at the end of each of my posts until the coach is fired: The '95 Knights (who won 3 games) allowed 435 goals. Last year Niagara allowed 358 goals. The Spitfires are on pace to allow 405 goals, this is quite literally on pace to be one of the worst teams in OHL history.

True and I hope the franchise doesn’t fall that far. The league is in a war for players with the NCAA and a battle to pull the dwindling money out of customers pockets. The league needs marquee franchises and all the rest of the franchises need to step up their game too. I would say that you shouldn’t worry. The Spitfires org is going to be fine. But I would have said that with just as much certainty two years ago about Niagara.

The ownership doesn't get involved with the day to day stuff but they care how the organization does. They are business men and very wealthy ones. If the team continues to struggle that means the value of their investment drops and they definitely don't want that to happen. If Bowler is too stubborn to fire Smith bc he just hired him, I expect ownership to step in. Yes, I also heard tonight more players asked to be moved. The names I heard aren't exactly big producers though.

Some thoughts from tonight...

Going through the goals against...

1. Scramble in front of the net, Froggett down, and it's put well over him. D has to clear that out.
2. Rangers get the puck in the corner with two men on them. However, pass into the slot and Sop is alone enough to wire it past Froggett. Gotta take Sop!
3. Ranger was left alllll alone glove side.
4. Maillet takes the wrong guy off a draw, lets his man skate into the slot and one-time it past Froggett.
5. Horrible line change for Windsor; a bomb pass gets to Rehkopf all alone blocker side. He has all day to go glove.
6. EN

- Windsor played well enough through two periods to deserve two points. It was a much better effort at both ends.
- It was that third that destroyed them; two quick goals to tie it and then the 4th and 5th put it away. You can see their disappointment mounting.
- Froggett played very well, all things considered. He was pretty clinical in the first, squaring up as much as he could. He made some big saves in the second and kept it as close to him as possible. Seemed like a "Keep it simple, stupid" approach and it worked. He's not anywhere near the reason for this loss.
- Defensively, they were physical in the first two periods but still allow guys to get wide open around the goal. That can't happen, esp against a team that'll bury you.
- Eichler and Walton had bad +/- games. However, Eichler was getting involved physically and standing up for teammates, so I can't be that upset.
- Speaking of which - say what you will about taking penalties but this team will definitely do what's needed to protect each other. Every time someone's in trouble, you have two or three guys right there to step in. Cristoforo got hit from behind; love him or hate him, he didn't deserve that and the team was right there to defend. Frankly, I'd rather kill a penalty for that than some cheap slashing or hooking call.
- Davis, Greentree, and Peer were dynamic. I love their games and Davis really feels like he could be a point-per-game player this season, which would be incredible. He leads all rookies with 9G and is second in rookie pts behind Sam O'Reilly in London.
- Outwater's home debut and he seems okay. Lanky kid, decent speed and creativity, doesn't mind getting into the dirty areas. I'm intrigued by what he'll do over the long haul.

I don't know where the team goes from here. They've lost eight straight now and are about to head onto a five-game trip with all five rinks being notoriously tough for them.

Oh, it should be noted - as far as I'm aware, there is *zero* relation btwn Smith and the Savages. The topic came up, I inquired, and there's your answer.

As far as Smith goes - I like the guy, think he's a solid assistant and has a good relationship with the players. However, my gut says he's on thin ice and this thing has to turn around. I'm not excusing Bowler as he's the one who gave Smith far too many bandaids, but I don't think Bowler's going anywhere. With that said, I don't know when Smith would be let go (IF he is)... before the Eastern swing or wait until Christmas or something? The longer this goes, the worse it spirals. I know growing pains and such but four wins in 21 games can't be accepted, regardless.

Well. Another game where we didnt adapt to the situation and change our style. Kitchener came out in the 3rd on a mission like any team should be going down into the third, and the came out upped the tempo. Spitfires came out and thought that playing the way the did for 40 would get it done in the third but usually not in this league. Sum it up how you want, I still point the fingers at the coaching staff for not adapting and tweaking the gameplan.

Froggett, damn I feel bad for this kid. Earlier this year I'd say it would be nice to see him in some games this year but not in the middle of this shit blizzard. He wasnt all that bad but obviously learning is still needed and this isnt the place for him to do that.

Wonder if Costanzo asked for a trade or is he really injured?, I'd have to think he along with alot of others are disgruntled. In this league you got to trend upward if you ever want to reach professional hockey and there's alot of guys on this squad trending in the wrong direction.

C.Smith, Struthers can both be release. Not much use there both not helping this team in any facet of the game. Malliet has been more then disappointing this year, forget he is on the team half the time. To many passengers and unfortunately it's the older guys.

Side note, Davis has been getting confidence. You can just tell by him holding onto the puck more and making smarter plays. Kudos to him and hope he can continue to improve.

On paper, this is a playoff team who could be pushing for a top-six spot. While the defence is very raw, the offence and goaltending should be solid enough. Instead, we're seeing the defence so bad that the offence and goaltending can't do their own things and it's costing them
I think they have shown they're not close to playoff caliber. If after 9 or 10 games you can see they're not playoff caliber then it was never meant to be. Maybe not really doing a legitimate coaching search reaps what it sows. Smith has to go and after this I don't see why you trust Bowler to make this hire.

There are no untouchables. The closest would be Greentree as for the rest you only have 30 cards. A shame they can't trade for a completely new roster.

On a side note
Rodwin Dionicio with the game winner tonite for Saggy in a win over Niagara
Dionicio scored the game winner on a failed pass to Christopoulos that bounced off a sprawled out Niagara defender. That defenseman? Sobolev.

Ahh the last two years were so much fun *sigh*

Not big producers? So… not Greentree or Peer? Cool.

They’re the two things that have been exciting to watch thus far and our only guys now that are over (or close to) a point per game. I like Davis too. Interesting to note Davis has passed Abraham (3 less games, 3 less points… but he’s far from a point a game) and Maillet in scoring.

Colton Smith is at 6pts in 21 games. Out produced by the likes of Castle, Morneau and Woodall.

joey Costanzo is also tied for 12th on the team in scoring with 2 points out producing forwards Struthers, and Ethan Martin who have played at least the same number of games. Lol

Us Kitchener fans after last season can totally relate. Not sure how Chris Dennis was hired (various rumors of being friends within the organisation) but from his initial press conference there were severe questions about his coaching resume. Hiring incompetent coaches is a diservice to the fans but more importantly could be a career killer for the players.
Being cheap doesn't make financial sense just by doing simple math. Let's say a successful team may have at least a boost of 500 fans a game.
Average ticket is approx 25.00 x 34 home games x 500 fans = $425,000.00. How many OHL coaches make that a yr, I'm sure there maybe one or two. I suspect our new coach could be in that range and is worth every cent. Of course a bad team will usually cost the team more money with attendance drop off. Once fans leave it can be the dickens to get them back.

Best of luck the rest of the season.

If it hasn't happened yet it got to very soon of fans stop going.

I like how last year Smith and Costanzo were great deals. Maybe we shouldn't declare winning a trade especially when those two have all but shuttered their value.

Tick tock coaching staff..
IMHO….You won’t hear a peep regarding coaching until MONDAY. If you hear nothing then what you see is what you get this year. As for trades /waivers expect a couple moves, nothing major, probably picks coming back and going out those who have asked to escape this debacle.
