Last weekend, Eichler said one of the biggest differences between the OHL and Europe is the physical play. He loves it but there's likely an adjustment period. That's something the coaches and his teammates need to help him with. "If you want to lay a guy out, awesome, but this slashing and small stuff after the whistle will get called every time."

Abraham is great at being the pest; I don't think a shift goes by where someone isn't mad at him. But, he's not doing it the right way currently. If you can sucker a guy into a two min penalty for shoving you, then capitalize on the PP, great. Right now, it's Abraham chirping, the other guy chirping back, Abraham doing something stupid, Windsor goes on the PK. Players have learned... and Abraham hasn't adjusted.
Players r not smart.
Reflect on he team..

Regarding Toms/Sop - there was no instigator called on the play so maybe the OHL looked at it and overruled the officials? It sucks for Windsor; regardless of how people want to mock Toms joining the team, giving up a 12th rounder for a guy with 100+ games in the league was a decent move. Low risk, potentially solid reward. Maybe we'll see Lavigne called up. Given his draft reputation for liking the rough stuff, this might be his style of game.

Regarding Froggett - a call up, on the road, and thrown into the fire in one of the loudest buildings in the OHL. I give the kid full props for doing as well as he did. There's no question nerves were a part of that experience. There's no word yet on who's playing tonight but, if Costanzo is out, I can see Froggett getting the start.

On paper, this is a playoff team who could be pushing for a top-six spot. While the defence is very raw, the offence and goaltending should be solid enough. Instead, we're seeing the defence so bad that the offence and goaltending can't do their own things and it's costing them.
You might wanna get an eraser for that paper if it’s telling you the Spits can push for top 6. As far as Toms goes, it was decent value but to expect he would truly have any noticeable, positive impact on the squad….well I mean, on paper maybe. On the actual ice or scoreboard? No. The results speak for themselves.

My fear is Eichler gets steamrolled and possibly injured until he finds that balance. I still have hope for him long term. What caused Abraham's wrist injury, a slash that was owed to him for his efforts . Reep what you sow.

I see a TON of "fire smith! fire bowler! fire the savages!" on here, which suggests it's not all on the players.. and, thus, suggests Toms' potential impact would be greater with another leader behind the bench. How much greater? That's anyone's guess.

Eichler is less likely to get steamrolled than Abraham; he's a solidly built kid and seems to enjoy the potential for chaos. Abraham's tiny... like his 5'8 168 listing seems exaggerated to me. That said, if someone doesn't like what Abraham is doing, drop the gloves and swing. This "I'm gonna slash you in retaliation" stuff is weak.

What poster on here honestly doesn't think they would be a better coach right now? Anyone of us would start players on the pine ride. That is where I hold the staff responsible. If you think they are not playing the systems, either the systems are at fault or the lack of players executing the systems are at fault. Both ways it is the coaching staff's fault. 🔥 time. BB do the honorable thing and dismiss at least Smith and Delmore and take the bench yourself to see if the cast of characters you assembled are worth a sh-t or you are the reason. Noone left to point fingers at this point

I think it’s pretty obvious they’d all play better with a better coach. Soo fans were all saying to move Toms early on though and he was a local boy. Different coach? 3A -6 in 12 games on a contender. Like Spits fans, Ive seen him a bit over the years. Never impressed. Mancini though? With the way the Spits have been playing D I’d almost take Mancini over Dionicio straight up. Unless he mentally checks out. This has got to be a pretty tough go for him and Zhugin right now.

Abraham has always been just a punk. Flint has something similar in Giroux. Most teams do nowadays unfortunately. If you drop the gloves with Abraham you’re just gonna be standing there with your gloves off while he stands behind a linesman and yaps until the next time he can slash you after a whistle and repeat the process.

The impression I got from Mancini after Thursday's game was that it was very, very tough to leave Saginaw given both on and off ice situations. However, his game is the style Windsor was looking for and the coaches told him to do his thing. I hope that, should Saginaw win the league or the Memorial Cup, they include Mancini and Zhugin in the festivities. That would be a solid "thank you" for this.

It would actually be a good thing if the Spits get completely blown out tonight because ownership or Bowler would have no choice but to fire Smith. A win and they might hold off which is not what we want. There is going to be 5,000 + at this game and the crowd will be more vocal than usual if they are getting blown out.

Nothing against Smith personally, I don't know him but many have stated he's a very nice guy, but this is a business. Being a head coach just isn't for everyone, and definitely not for him in the OHL. Damage is being done to the organization by keeping him. The development of players is being stunted I know I keep stating this, but the longer he stays the bigger risk you have in players requesting out. What happens if Greentree has enough and wants out? Something that could happen if Smith remains the coach.

The worst team in OHL history allowed 435 goals. The Spitfires are on pace to allow 405 goals. Quite literally one pace to be the worst teams in OHL history. Now the team isn't good, but the roster isn't this bad where they are closing in one being a top 5 worst OHL team in history.

Hope he has a thick skin. Our goalie pipeline ends with him and don't want to break another spirit. Remember Downey and Costanzo both ranked at the top of the prospect goalies their draft years. A couple of seasons with the Spits defense structure and drifted to the abyss Goaltending is 90 % confidence. Something you can't maintain for long backstopping the S--tfires.

Coaching: Easier to replace than an entire team and/or a GM. Start there and keep going if we need to.

Abraham: a pest, I used to love him but his productivity is minimal, and he doesn’t seem to be a leader which you start to need out of those 04’s.

Costanzo: pulled after several brutal losses, and then so sick he’s not dressed back to back games? I like Joey, I’d love him as our guy for the next two-theee seasons but… I’m afraid he’s heading
out. And I can’t blame him.

Cole Davis is on the upswing for sure. Great job kid! Froggett solid so far. Either the Spits are playing great or the Rangers are in low gear tonight 3rd period will tell the tale
No pp for rangers yet.
I'm sure that won't be mentioned by someone later as it's usually against Windsor..
