Christoforo is a total bust defensively. Offense at a cost. His minus 43 was worse than points for at 38. A balance we cannot afford to sustain. Maybe he needs a change of scenery. Not all 1st round picks work out. Remember Greentree was a 2nd rounder playing like a first rounder. Win some and lose some.

Ok first off, who comes with an offer you cant refuse for Cristo??? Hell who comes with anything the Spits can use? Now i could see a team with a glut of OA’s asking for him in a trade with picks. For his own good id give him the scenery change for sure. Just dont see him bringing much back. Say what you will but BB MUST spend and acquire an OA D man and very likely a second D man. We wont even talk about who coaches them!! You cannot subject the team/goalies to another year of abysmal D play!! Yes its going to cost, yes likely a painful amount but he made this mess and hes gotta fix it! Agree or disagree lets discuss this. I believe its the biggest issue facing this team.
Regarding acquisition of an OA dman pretty sure u will see that happening in the coming days,as for Christoforo being dealt don't see that happening at least prior to the season,offensively he had 3 less points then his rookie season though it should be noted Windsor scored 73 less goals this past season then the season before where they scored 320 goals,big difference imo,4 rookie D this past season plus the 17 year old Christoforo unlike the 1st place team the season before.
Should note Christoforo missed most of training camp and all of exhibition season with an injury and we saw how the team started going 4-17-1 before Smith was relieved of his job,should note next 16 games after the poor start Spits went 8-5-3 with Bowler and Torres behind the bench and Christoforo who started the year -22 in the 1st 22 games wound up with +1 in the 16 games when Bowler and Torres took over,prior to Kris Newbury being added to the staff.
In fact after game 22 when the Spits started 4-17-1, the next 34 games Spits went 14-14-6 Christoforo was a -4,before going 0-12-1 to finish the season.
Should not forget Newbury didn't coach the last 13 games of the season and he was responsible for the D and will be again in that position this season working the D with Greg Walter's who already has said everyone will be held accountable.
So at this point I am not prepared to move Christoforo.
Prepared to see how things work out moving forward.
Meant to add re Christoforo, when he had Roberto Mancini as his partner for 16 games when Bowler and Torres started coaching Mancini was a +10 and Christoforo was +4.
Once Mancini and others got moved at the trade deadline things definitely changed defense wise for Christoforo especially after Toure missed the last 10 games of the season.

Just speculation on my part, but maybe the WJSS coming to Windsor was to gauge interest of the city/area hosting the World Juniors in the future.
Fantastic turnout for the Sweden game and the Inter-team scrimmage looked packed too. Would be a great event for the city.

Good attendance yes.
However they would have to share it with another city like London.

Would be difficult to outbid other Canadian cities, but if they wanted to come back to Ontario and Ottawa/Toronto hosting recently there could be a chance…
What about a multi nation Detroit/Windsor bid
Won't happen with London as the primary location. Arena is too small for Canada games at 9000......Hockey Canada will want an NHL sized rink....it's all about $$$.

Hell yeah!!! I’d totally be down to catch a USA game at LCA and a couple European teams at WFCU. I completely think Windsor and Detroit are capable and worthy of hosting.
London threw its hat in the ring years ago and not a sniff. Not sure the year without looking it up but it was post 2005. Might have been with Kitchener as cohost.
Tic sales were gauranteed but wasn't big enough venue. And London has hosted some big events with a good track record.
I wish it would go back to grass roots but that time has past.
Halifax....great town wirh probly better notoriety than a London, Windsor, Brandon, Rimouskis of the world.....but gives the non NHL arena cities hope. Just wonder what HC n IIHF would want for tic prices in a 7, 8, 10 thousand seat arena to stuff their pockets.

Would be nice if they did something like that but the medal games wouldn’t ever probably be there- they want as much revenue as possible and if any team in the O would generate that- it would be London just like how Halifax got it I believe last year? Or maybe the year before
Detroit wouldn't need Windsor to pull it off. They could do it on their own. If they can pull off a Final Four, Super Bowl, they were going to host a Frozen Four If not for Covid. They actually held a Frozen Four at Ford Field as well. There would be too many issues as well. For instance Hockey Canada wouldn't want to play in a 6000 seat arena they would rather play at LCA for more $$$$. Would they just give Windsor lower tier games which probably would draw fewer fans?

I know Dilkens was asked about the WJSS being a stepping stone to the WJC for Windsor-Detroit and he hasn't ruled it out. They failed with London but the City of Windsor and Detroit have been working well together since then. Is it likely? That's tough. Is there a chance? Yes.
Very likely you’re correct but isn’t there always A and B venues for WJC? LCA would obviously be rink A. Where would rink B be? UofM is kinda far. So is Plymouth. That place is too small and never draws anybody anyway. Just daydreaming here but if it were to happen, Windsor seems like a solid choice for a B rink.
In 2023 Halifax hosted it with Moncton as a shared bid which is a good 2 hrs away. If Detroit hosted Grand Rapids is 2 hrs away and Van Andel Arena seems like a suitable choice 12000 seats.
It’s probably closer to 3 hours but yeah, you’re right, I hadn’t thought about that.

11,000 for hockey might be more for concerts. Already do the GLC now after it moved away from Detroit. I'd be down as the B location. Don't know how ideal that would be as others have mentioned its about 2.5 hours from the LCA to the Van.

If Detroit were to host the WJs, both US and Canada games would have to be at Little Caesars. The ticket demand for Canada would dictate it. Us fans will not fill LCA but it would be a slap in the face to the US to put them elsewhere. Windsor, Flint and Plymouth would be the most likely 2nd site. Windsor and Flint would draw because of the local fans. Plymouth would not. The only sporting events that draw Detroit fans and the Red Wings, Tigers, Lions, Pistons, UM and MSU. Anything else is considered minor league by Detroit fans and media.

Would Flint's arena be big enough? Aside from a 2,100-seat Lewiston arena in 2010, the arenas have all been 5,500+.
About 4,000 for Flint, same as Plymouth. Saginaw is another possibility which is close to 5500. They supported the Memorial Cup.
It is only about money if they can sell tickets.
