All new coachig staff, better scouts, better drafted, players that actually play defense would be a start.
Bowler needs to be better. This season was the worst and starts with Bowler.
In order to improve Bowler needs to go. He's not fixing this just by finding a coach, drafting in the top 2 or 3 and hitting on the import draft. Can we finally have a talk about his 4 drafts?? By talk I mean an honest discussion not some platitudes and Bowler shoe shining episode.

This year the team has positioned itself in the top 3 Spitfire worst records. Only 75-76 (12 wins- worst) , and 2 other seasons with 18 or 19 wins !

Repeat: IMO this team needs a former "NHLer " to buy and run this team!
Personally I'm a little concerned that Bowler has still been the voice in all of this. With the Savage's having a stake in the Sens I wonder if they truly care with what has happened this year.

I'm thinking very little.
Just a small deal..

WINDSOR
There were a few who on here who were defending certain D for having to face Musty line. Musty his tying the all time Wolves points in one game is based on the incredible lack of coverage by the Spits 5 on 5. The home team Wolves have last change and chose to put their line on against our "top pairing " for a reason. Our 1st unit PP experiment with parking 74 in front of the net and Greentree on the point is not working. The 2nd thrown together 2nd unit scored both PP goals last night. 9 goals against and defenseman Walton +2 Manzo +3 Eichler 0 Toms only-1 tells the story. 5 on 5 we were abismle with 1 pairing. More like a 5 on 4 PP all night for Sudbury. Woodall and Cristoforo should not be paired together.

74 should work on defense.
Soft..

Soooo...

Windsor in the Soo tonight. That'll be fun.
Yes like the last 2 games,Sault will have revenge here after losing in Windsor a short while ago 6-4, both North Bay and Sudbury had lost their previous meetings with prior to the last 2 games against them.
Expecting Ryan Abraham back in the lineup would not surprise me if Manzo is out, don't think you can play 4 straight nights in a given time and he did play in La Salle on Wednesday prior to the last 2 games, plus La Salle plays tomorrow in Chatham would make it 5 in a row for Manzo, don't see that happening.

Really like Manzo. Quite shocking how well he plays. Sad to not see him tonight. The cage line last night

It can't be overstated how poor the D is and lack of commitment from players to defend their own zone. They gave up 9 goals and they were missing two top 6 forwards. I don't want to hear about how a lot of their D is new or how young they are. They haven't commited to playing D since day 1. That's an indictment of coaching/management/players.

Absolutely. It has been a coaching issue and Bowler's rosters. Ever since Savard, enforced defense is an afterthought.

I have no problem with that loss. Zero OA's and a depleted lineup and scored 8 against Sudbury without Abraham and Davis. Man, that Wolves team has so much talent on forward, but they are similar to the Spitfires last year, need to score a ton of goals to win games. Not sure how they will do in the playoffs. I've always liked Sudbury mainly bc of their uniforms.

Goal scoring is not an issue and will only get better next season. Obviously, they need to improve the D and goaltending. Really hoping they finish below the Petes to get a 30% chance to win the lottery meaning two of either Wassilyn, Valentini or Belchetz will be there for the choosing at 2nd overall.

Also finishing below the Petes means the 6th pick in the import draft. I think you have to go with a d-man in the import pick instead of BPA unless the BPA is a high NHL pick (similar to Dvorsky) that is committing to coming here. Trade 2 of the 2025 2nds for a d-man in the offseason or in September.

Manzo looks good, he was a +3 tonight, he will be a solid d-man in this league, he should have been one of the rookies that made the team out of camp. I am ok with losing out, maybe record one more win at home. Cristoforo was always out there against Dvorsky or Musty, not easy guys to defend.
I’m with you on the Christoforo argument. He’s a Parekh style defensemen without the skill/shot. Parekh isn’t too physical, and I often see him “out of position” for a defensemen. But you net 30 goals and people aren’t paying as much attention to one half of your game.

74 is on the 2nd worst team in the OHL. He’s frequently on the top pairing, going against far superior teams Top Forward line.

Does anywhere track TOI for the OHL? Because it seems Christoforo has been eating up insane minutes for a 17 year old, especially since Mancini departed. Being gassed is gonna impact his game as well.

Top Line D Man, on the top PP, and top PK lines… I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s pushing 30 minutes some nights. From my eyes, He’s been put in a position to gain experience, not to excel.

I wanted a better year from him. I got way more than I expected with Greentree. Spellacy’s about on par for what I expected after a slow start. Davis? I’ll be honest, a complete surprise. He is now, pretty much what I always thought Abraham would/could be.
