I say if Joey can go tonight and tomorrow, you let him. Then if he needs a break to let Onuska start the Kingston Game. JMHO
I agree with Costanzo starting tonight at Peterborough, then tomorrow I would start Onuska, and that's only because he beat them in Windsor earlier in the season, then Sunday afternoon back to Costanzo at Kingston regardless what happens at Ottawa.
Costanzo deserves to start 2 of the 3 this week period.

IF Onuska can get back to his 2021-22 form, I have no issues if they go almost 50/50 the rest of the way. If he struggles, then you go Costanzo.
Playoff form from last year most definitely yes, always better to have two reliable goalies and not 1 like we have right now. Onuska was solid for this team last playoffs maybe not a game changer every night but definitely good enough to win us games and keep us in games which is all anyone can ask for from the goalie but if we get even the Onuska of last regular season which to me was average at best then I'd still say Costanzo should be the clear cut #1 for this team and has played well beyond Onuskas level of last regular season and with a worse defensive team to boot this year (just my opinion). Onuskas time should be running out to prove something, how many more big games should this team risk throwing him to the wolves and risk crucial points trying to secure home ice thru the conference at least. It's a huge advantage if we make it to the conference finals vs the Knights and I'd really hate to lose it by 2 or 3 points and say what if.

Big eastern trip here. Hopefully this one is the complete opposite as are other long road trip a few weeks back. Some tough, tough eastern conference games here against the Pete's and 67s, kind of a measuring stick to gauge are matchup against the best of the east, nice to see that this year as we had to wait to the league finals last year to see the best in the east. Also cant take Kingston easy as well, or any team for that matter. Hope to see a strong performance from all involved. Let's see if Savard starts his 1a Onuska tonight vs the Pete's and vs Ottawa, mine as well hes earned it with his play this season and it's not like were vying for a championship or anything, I just feel Savard just has a soft spot for him, because his play in his OHL career and us going all in, it really makes no sense what else Savard is doing, it was a battle for top spot In the conference, like what in the hell do you tell yourself to keep going with the Fantasy of a 1A and 1B, a second year goalie is far and beyond outplaying are wasted O/A Slot. Its let down after let down with Onuska in net. No but seriously he was solid in net for almost a whole 65 minutes against the knights, then let in 2 weaker goals that he probably wishes he had back and that's it, story of Onuska, when you need him to make a crucial save, it's just not there usually and Costanzo has been the opposite. You gotta make the saves when your team needs you too in the big moments thats just the way it is when your the goalie and its deflating letting in weaker goals consistently or in the last minutes of the game, it Still is mind bottling he started Onuska. It's just very frustrating, were going all in but Savards doing favors for Onuska, the net should be earned especially because were going for the championship, were not rebuilding, put the best goalie and players out there in the big games, no time for mind games.

Sorry for the Rant. But Anyways hope to see a strong effort!, and hopefully Wright is 120% and ready, no point on tweaking anything, would also help getting Sobolev back, maybe a bit undervalued because he lacks offensively compared to others, but he is the reliable defensive defenseman they need back there and will add some physicality and depth to our blue line. It's much needed!!

Go Spitfires Go
I think the only teams that can say they have a 1A and 1B goalie is ottawa and london. I hate it when savard uses the 1a and 1b. The 2 goalies numbers are not close. Therefore there is no a or b. Joey better get 2 of 3 or there might be some frustrated people on here.

Where is greentree rated in the 2024 nhl draft?
Not sure if any rankings have been out yet?

Maybe Joey had the flue, tweeked something? Not many other reasons to not play him Monday?

There is no issue if he goes by playoff form somewhat cause going back and looking at his game by game he really didn’t stand out. He just made a save when he needed when Medina couldn’t do that well until he got in playoffs. There shouldn’t be a 50/50 as Joey is so far ahead of him at 17 then Onuska was last year. Onuska should only get spot starts

If they're both playing to their abilities, then 50/50 (at worst) is fine with me. Costanzo IS the better goaltender right now but having two capable starters who are on their game is a good problem to have.

Lots of sloppy giveaways. PP sucked. JC big saves. Line juggling looks to have us a bit scattered to start. 4 min to go put one in boys!!

Well we got a shortie from an unlikely source. Awesome. What's not Awesome is chipping the puck back deeper in our zone instead of moving forward. Caught us twice big time tgat period. .

What's up with the weird lines? It seems strange that Savard would move Abraham to the wing and take Harrison off the top line. Greentree on the 4th line is questionable as well, although we're pretty deep and somebody has to be there.

Don't disagree, Abraham's line has been great since his return so why change that line?? Understand with Wright back things change but I'd have left the Abraham line in intact for now. PP was too predictable with telegraphed long cross ice passes for a bad angle shot at the half wall.

Refs doing their best to keep the Petes in this one, that's 4 straight power-plays for them, all within a 13 minute span.

Looked like he was stretching for a shot that never came, if someone would have taken the uncovered man left parked with that much time the goal may not have happened 😳 JC has been great so far. Not the problem imo.

I know the PP ranks #1, but they need to hit the video room and figure out why the other team is always getting the better chances shorthanded when on the PP.

That's a bad loss, up 2-1 late in the 2nd, lose 6-2. Special teams were the difference in this one, need to be better. Had 43 shots but only two goals, all of a sudden the offense is in a slump. That's now 4 straight road losses against an Eastern Conference opponent.

Ottawa tomorrow, I have that penciled in as another loss. Onuska will likely be in net. It's looking more like 2nd in the conference is where they'll finish which would mean a difficult task Sarnia in the 2nd round.

Not a good game at all tonight! The drop pass on the PP...they can stick that up their ass. They need to find that sense of urgency and get some passes into the slot. Defense should be a glaring concern right now.
