This is true but bad "team" defense is not helping either goalie. Joey gives them a slightly better chance for sure ( about 1 goal a game) but the only way they have any chance of success in the playoffs is to buckle down on "team" D. That is all 5 players in front of the goalie buying in and playing team D. We will see but time is running out .
Absolutely agree with that!!

Playoff Picture:
1/2 London/Windsor
3. Sarnia
4. Saginaw
5-8, Flint/Kitchener/Owen Sound/Guelph

I could see 1/2 going either way, I think it’ll come down to the last two games against each other.

I think Sarnias a lock for 3rd, and I don’t think Saginaw will cough up home ice to Flint.

The bottom 4 is a toss up. Soo’s out if Kitchener gets 4 pts and OS gets 2 ptsout of their next 9 pts.

Of the bottom 4, I think OS is my least favorite matchup. Flint or Guelph would be ideal, but I don’t think Flint will drop below 6.

Not so sure Flint is an easy out. Top two lines are veteran loaded and goalie Nathan Day has started 6 in a row and is on a 7 game win streak and was lights out last Friday when Windsor was there. Flint Saggy sure would be a fun series for that rivalry. Would be the
I 75 series.

I wouldn’t say Flint is an easy out. They play tough physical hockey, which this team hasn’t done well against.

However, the Spits historically have the Best of Flint and I don’t think a series this year would be any different. Windsor typically does well in Flint too.

I don’t wanna play games in Owen Sound, and I think Kitchener is way stronger than the standings show. They proved just last year they’re able to upset.

Anyone that hits and plays strong defense, Windsor does not want to play.

I think Saginaw is the easy out honestly. Especially if Misa continues to be out. Depth is meh, D is meh & goaltending hasnt been good for awhile. GUE is struggling now & on paper they don't pose much of a threat. Goaltending is weak too. But they'll catch u if u completely overlook them.

FLT & KIT are to teams that 100% can pull off an upset. Ton of vets & getting hot. KIT especially could be very scary. Owen Sound is weird. I love their team on paper but they've been pretty terrible for almost 2 months now. Feel like game 1 will be important vs them. They win & get confidence & watch out.

I don't see any sweeps though. Potential for all to at least go 6 & a few game 7s. For my hearts sake I'm praying Sarnia isn't one of them cause we all know how that'll end....

I genuinely mean this, I feel sorry for you Sting fans. Not bad enough to want to see you out perform the Spits, but if we’re out of it, I think I’m one of many Windsor fans that wouldn’t be upset about you guys seeing some success.

I have no doubts Misa and Parekh will be there for playoffs. Saginaw knows this isn’t their year though. Their arena is in need of some upgrades, but their on ice product would be great for the 24 Mem Cup.

OS always seems to give Windsor a tough time. Haven’t seen much of their team this year, but I feel much more confident going in against Guelph or Flint. I think we’d scrape by OS, but Kitchener scares me.

Arcuri and Pinelli have the ability to carry that team, and Costanini is a solid goalie although I don’t think he is as good as his stats say. I really wasn’t impressed in the finals last year, and I think Parsons would’ve posed a bigger threat had he been healthy.

With how banged up the Spits are, it makes me wonder if there was a way we could’ve kept O’Flaherty while acquiring Dionicio.

Castles showing glimpses of hope with the depleted lineup, however it’s just embarrassing seeing our guys get tossed around. Spellacy took on the energetic checking role O’Flaherty had with more offensive production and since we lost him, I hate to say it… but the spits offense has gone soft.

At the deadline, it was like “wow, look at all this depth we have”, and last weekend it was “wow, we only have 8 forwards”.

I may get flack for being an OFlaherty cheerleader but he has 1 assist in 31 games and a -24 in Niagara. 11pts in 33 games here, but I love the contribution he brought when he wasn’t on the scoresheet. Niagara couldn’t have had that high of value on him, as we could really use a guy to two that’s just banging guys around.

It just makes the game tougher. Having a Spellacy/O Flaherty on a middle line with a pair of guys that light it up, is just so hard to play against, knowing when you’re not playing defense, you still have to be aware of where everyone is or you’re going to be lit up.

Somehow Morneau has been our most physical forward.

If we are looking for advantageous matchups in round 1 we are probably in trouble imo.

Who wouldn’t be? What team doesn’t want to just roll over their opponent in a quick 4 games?

Should we beat any of the 5-8? Yes.
But with how fragile this team seems to be, the easier the better. Upsets happen, and I’d prefer to play a team that’s less likely to pull that off.

Maybe London should’ve been looking for a better advantageous matchup last year when they won their division and finished second.

I am speaking more to a 7th or 8th seed that should be extremely beatable. They're a 7th or 8th seed for a reason. I don't know what London has to do with it other than going into the playoffs with an injured goalie. That is probably something you want to avoid.

Agree O'Flaherty brought more physical play than Castle. Numbers even. Castle has more offensive potential by far and was brought in for next year. His numbers will be good next year when he is likely a top 6 forward. His play is streaky at best but looks in place when he is out fir a shift with a top forward like Wright or Maggio

Agreed. Castle next year I imagine will our produce O Flaherty this year (especially given his NIA numbers). Makes sense to have some pieces available next season, I just wish we had some sort of physicality up front

10 Forwards Dressed, Costanzo Starting.

Peers back, Abraham, Spellacy, Harrison still out.

McLlwans back in the lineup

Going with only 10 forwards again, one of them being McElwain, so 9 OHL forwards. Where is Harrison? They made it sound like he was going to be back this weekend. Why can't they call up more players to fill the spots, these guys are going to be exhausted.

I agree with that. Once Spellacy got hurt that dried up quick.

Associate teams in playoffs. 3 game rules in a week, Emergency call up limits. Saving game limits for playoffs if we are short??

Spellacy done for the year im told. Abraham could be the same if its the same injury. Harrison no info at all, zilch in fact. Team just needs to get focused, play tougher for sure and get back to scoring.

I'll be upset that if it is that same ligament for Abraham that they didn't do surgery initially. 2-3 months surgery recovery which he was already out and now still with a question mark just letting it heal as is. Also read Spellacy went home for surgery. Not looking goid Big loss without Abraham and Spellacy. Those who thought Wright wasn't needed are sure missing the boat with these injuries.

Abraham and Harrison were walking around in good spirits last Saturday and didn’t visibly look injured, which doesn’t tell the whole story, but makes me believe they’ll be back soon.

They’re key pieces out of this lineup.

I feel like “we didn’t have our full lineup” is managements excuse for stringing together loss after loss.

While that may be somewhat true, you’re only as good as your last game in my eyes. And if you still don’t have your full lineup come playoff time, too bad.

Also, with Jr B players, playoff games count towards their number?

Seems weird since it doesn’t count towards fight count, or career stats. If Spellacy’s out, id love to see Cole Davis fill a playoff spot.
