I hopped in November. That was a quality club though… Then they added Chatham, who I was always unimpressed with - I could never escape watching him skate 😂

I don’t expect Dionicio to always be this productive, but I‘m seeing glimpses of him I really like already.
Actually Dionicio will contribute more offensively then you think, last year as a 17 year old in 57 games he had 31 points,6G,25A,toss in his physicality and this will turn into an excellent trade for Windsor this year and next.

They could get back 4-1st round picks next season. It’s just a different pick value in the W & Q than the O.
There is a pretty good chance Beck returns for the Petes, and traded for near equal value paid to acquire him.
One year after going ‘all-in’ Hamilton has ‘04, ‘05, 2-‘06 1st picks, and full compliment of future picks

Tough go for the good players if they are expected to get flipped each year if traded before their last season.
Great the Petes can flip him next year but that's 3 homes n billeys/3 teams in 12/16 months for the kid.

Some thoughts from tonight...

- I'm not sure what the situation is regarding Onuska but it sounds like it was pretty sudden. LaSalle was off this weekend so not sure why they didn't call anyone up from them. Congrats to Bolton for dressing, though. He's done well in Jr. C.

- The new guys are contributing right away which is good to see. Holmes isn't flashy but uses his frame well. He reminds me a bit of Sanvido. Harrison is going to be a lot of fun and seems to be genuinely excited to be here. Castle has some nice size and appears to be a checking role. Dionicio can do a bit of everything and showed that tonight. Good size on him, too. It's been a whirlwind few days for the youngster so, given some time to rest and settle in, I expect he'll be even better as the season continues.

- The depth of this club is impressive. Maggio and Harrison having an off night? In comes Christo/Peer. All four having an off night? Okay, here's Greentree and Smith. etc etc etc.

- Their PP actually looked good at times. They just need to get in sync and...

- I'm starting to think that Costanzo is going to force Savard's hand and I mean that in the nicest way possible. Savard has always emphasized that if you play well, the ice time will come. Hey, 7-of-8 with a SV% over .900. What more do we need to see?

- Speaking of rookies - Greentree, Spellacy, and Cristo look like veterans out there. It's still early in this whole process but... (watches the ball fly over the LF wall)

- Friday was a fluke. Let's be realistic. You're going to get games like that on occasion. This team has too much potential to let things slip now.

- OA deadline Monday at noon. We'll have our Onuska answers by then. My gut - he stays. But, I've been proven wrong before.

My gut says he will be gone. The deciding factor is because he is both a goalie and an O/A. If he was their #1 goalie perhaps not but there will be players available that can add to the team from around the CHL and a backup goalie can be found in the system or via a trade.

It was like Greentree took offense to being started on the third line and it looked like Costanzo came in to prove he belongs as the #1 goalie.

The Onuska situation is tricky. Would moving on hurt us? I don’t think much.

He’s an OA, would be nice to have the slot available but for what and at what price?

Top 6 D is solid and I can’t see changing. Affordable OA goalie options aren’t much of an upgrade plus creates a slight change in the room. Upfront Depth? Maybe. It just doesn’t seem possible given the time crunch, our cupboard and goalies available as a Back Up.

Seattle will be tough with 5 Canadian WJC players now. Kamloops hot on Zellweger. Rumor is like 4-1st round picks plus 2 players plus additional picks. Yikes!! I never knew the WHL could trade 1st round picks.
I don't know what to think about trading first round picks but I would like all three leagues in the CHL to have the same rules.

I agree at this point the dressing room is readjusting and moving on from Onuska might add more to that. If there was a big upgrade out there to take on the backup role then yes but I don't think there is really much available. Getting another OA maybe but again what position are they looking to fill without spending big? I would actually be surprised if any move is made but again Bowler has surprised me already this deadline. Clock is ticking.

Well OA deadline done. Trades are sometimes slow to be confirmed by the league but I'm surprised there are no trades anywhere today as per the league yet.

Looks like Maggio, Renwick, and Onuska are the 3 OAs, barring some 03 goalie deal tomorrow.
Have to say I’m disappointed that BB made the moves and left a gaping hole. Not saying it would have been easy, and perhaps there was no deal to be made, but still disappointing.

Scott Wheeler says he's been hearing London, North Bay, and Windsor more and more for Shane Wright as we enter the last day.

If the spits are in wouldn’t they have to give up Meidema and Greentree or Spellacy in a deal with picks since we lack the picks?

How about package Wright , Vaccari, left D Hache in a blockbuster. Vaccari 3.14 GAA with a .908 Sv%. I might pull the trigger if all 3 of those players were all packaged but what would be the price. Yikes.

Is the initial situation disappointing? To an extent, yes. However, we have 24 hours to figure something out and, given BB's rep for not saying a word before making a deal, I'm not going to get too frustrated just yet.

Greentree and Spellacy cannot be traded and I know for a fact that Savard is extremely happy with how they've played (meaning, don't expect them to be a part of a deal in the summer).

I doubt Windsor has the pieces to pull that. Hache on his own? Not out of the question. Wright? Highly unlikely. Vaccari? Not without giving up a big piece like Costanzo.

Greentree and Spellacy can't be traded now. I can see a deal getting done with Miedema, he and Martin are the only drafted 05's on the roster currently and Costanzo is making an impact. I really like Miedema but by the time he's 19 they aren't going to be ready to contend most likely. They are better off taking their swing now.

Could pull Vaccari as a rental and trade him back in the fall. Seen thar happen before. Not trading Costanzo. Miedema and Dangelis and picks . Bowler appears all in at all costs so who knows at this point.

Unless the Fronts have a secondary deal for a G, I can't see them going Vaccari/Hache/Wright for Miedema/DA/picks.

Do you guys think trading Meidima and Christoforos would be like London refusing to trade Oliver Bonk??

With not a lot of draft picks, they are studs and cornerstones of your franchise for years to come.

I have a feeling Kingston is more interested in players rather than picks to help their bid for the Mem Cup but I think they are ruining their shot at getting what they want.

More Cristoforo than Miedema. Cristo is our 06 1st and already showing signs he's going to be incredibly valuable down the road. If I had to try to compare Miedema to a Knight... maybe Barkey?

Perfect - so if that’s the case Bowler would be crazy to give those players up for Shane Wright.

I suspect you guys don’t want Shane Wright then?
