Wonder how Abraham has been recovering as although his smaller stature, I expect him to be a major impact player this year.

Only name I’m surprised isn’t on that list is Christopoulos. He didn’t really start logging numbers until the 22’ playoffs but did had a 49 Goal season. Surprised no one is taking a closer look.
Good for the players to be at camp for a cup of coffee.
Bring the work effort for this coming season..

Spits draft Josef Eichler, 05 Defenceman from Czechia. 6 foot 180 pounds. played for U18 team in World U18 tournament. Late birthday, So the coming season will be his draft year.
Good size, 6-195, not much offense only 12 assists 0 goals in 60 games played total, but 146 penalty minutes, right hand shot, might be a good fit with Dionicio, time will tell

Know nothing on him, unfortunatey, but this looks and feels like Hebek from last year.

i was hoping we‘d swing for a homerun with the pick. Doesn’t look like we did that.
They picked 45th in a shallow pool. There were probably no home runs to hit. Since he is from Czechia, he probably will sign. However, if Sobolov returns, the Spits will not sign him.

There was definitely some swings they could have taken, Thomas Uronen, Jesse Kiiskanen, Matteo Koci, David Svozil, Tomas Galvas, Dominik Badnika, Aron Kiviharju, Stian Solberg were all selected after us that i hold rather highly.

All these guys I’m more familiar with than Eichler, although as I said in my initial post, I’m not familiar with his game, so I could definitely be ignorant on this, so it’s wait and see for me.

I heard Eichler would go to whichever team picks him, so I'm 99% sure he'll be there. That said, I really don't like the upside with this kid. Hebek probably isn't a terrible comparison purely in terms of how big an impact (or not) Eichler can have. A bit undersized for the aggressive, physical style he plays, and I don't think there's much there when it comes to puck skills.

Just curious to where you heard/read that Eichler will go to any team that picks him.

I have a couple friends who work with WHL teams and he was offered to them. The fact they work with different teams and not the “high-end organizations” makes me think he was offered to most if not all teams.

I will be honest, the Eichler pick is not great and I doubt he amounts to much. Hebek was actually a fine pick, he still holds some promise thanks to his size, but he moved over to the CHL too early, clearly not ready for that level. Eichler I don't think will contribute much and unlike Hebek, I don't see much room for improvement either unfortunately. 6th/7th defensive D is probably the most you can expect from Eichler, if he lasts the whole season without moving back to Europe, it's a success IMO.

It is possible people are on vacation this week. No coach named yet so dependent on Bowler to release a statement.
