Rock & Hardplace
1996-97 - the 1st ranked Ottawa 67's lost Games 1 and 2 to the fifth-ranked Belleville Bulls in the first round. They came back to win it before losing to the Gens in the final. While it wasn't 1 v. 8, the Bulls had 22 wins that season.

When will I be concerned? If they screw up Game 3. Yes, there are issues, and everyone (including the team) knows it. However, when the season is on the line and you need a win, this is the roster I'd want. There were two ugly losses but there's too much talent for me toss the season aside and focus on baseball. I'm not going to apologize for having some faith in them after all we've seen. This organization has made history before... so why not do it again?
I think that really bugs me the most is Windsor fans are always being "called out" for being fans, you know too negative, too critical, bandwagon fans! Have you read any of the other threads this week??? Holy cow! Refs suck, players suck, coaches suck! Don't see any fans on those threads calling them out.
Being a fan is an emotional experience, let us have that and a way to vent! Deep down everyone is a fan and even more so if you're taking the time to post your thoughts.
Fans from other boards need to maybe head back to your own threads and post critical thoughts on the negative stuff posted about the exact same thing that Spits fans are called out for.

I'm not a criminal for being a Spitfire fanatic!

Are those the confirmed refs this series? I fully expected Burchell to ref in Kitchener which would be an absolute nightmare for everyone.
No, but that’s who was reffing Saginaw/Flint last night. A rather tame Game 3 and they were calling every little thing. It really became a game of look at how frequently the refs blow the whistle rather than them just playing it out to see who’s the better team.

Dream big!
Its only 4 out of next 5 games that we need to Win. I have some confidence in a Potential comeback. it can happen but will it is the question. If these boys and coaches come with a bipolar mindset and gameplay then the first two games of this series then we have a good Chance. We have more skill then the Rangers and now we need to start to use it in the proper ways and stop getting out coached and willed. Big Question mark is O if he starts, My confidence is at zero with him in the net and I hope this guy proves me wrong and I eat my words. This should be a do or die attitude in the locker room. Get to work and start digging out of this hole your in, the Spitfire faithful knows there is a better team in there somewhere.

One Game at a Time Boys!!

Bit of an odd lineup. Dionicio is playing defense, I would have him at forward, they need goals. Instead they have Harrison and Maillet and Jodoin as the 3rd line. Smith gets bumped to the 2nd line lmao. Maggio with Wright. Unfortunately, Onuska in goal.

Rather have dionicio on offense.
Defense is not his strongest position

Welp.

Castle who I thought has been fine is on the 4th line, with Graniero & Davis. Surprised they went with Graniero over McManus.

Surprised Smith is on line 2 and Castle is on line 4. Reuniting Smith/Peer/Christo which was common early this season.

Weird to see Jodoin on line 3. Weird to see Maggio and Maillet split up again, considering how well that worked all season.

And as Spits mentioned… the dreaded #36 as the starting goalie on the line sheet. Maybe the guys dropping down aren’t showing their heart in practice? I don’t know. Lots of things I’m scratching my head at, and I hope my prediction for tonight’s game is wrong.

I don’t think we’re getting shut out, but I wouldnt be surprised by a 5-2 game for Kitchener.

Those r the lines for the start of the game. We all know Savard changes the lines frequently during and every game.

What happened to the 10 points a game top line, Maggio, Wright and Harrison? Was working too well? I'm ok with the 2nd line being reunited. It had spark. Maillett dropping down to the bottom 6 helps reduce risk of the Kitchener bottom lines. All for not if Kitchener scores 3 goals on the first 4 shots. I sure hope Onuska is dialed in for this one!!!

Ferguson and Hutchison have been notoriously bad for so long. Lol. Whenever I see em on the scoresheet, I have to really consider how much I want to see the game lol
Sting fans were chanting we want Peel (notorious nhl ref Tim peel, who was horrific) Sunday with Cairns reffing.

I don't think it's a coincidence the worst refs the league have are the "vets." Hutchison, Monette, Cairns, Ferguson, Burchell. The newer ones don't seem nearly as bad.

Well its put up or shut up now, no more excuses from our players or coaches. I dont want to hear it after the game if we lose. Will see tonight if Savards delusional philosophy he has been going with of a 1a and 1b duo works out for us tonight with Onuska in net or if it back fires. We should have picked up an OHL Calibre goalie. But This could be the big decision at the deadline that potentially ends our season. Tonight we need to start playing the game the right way at the opening puck drop. No more 40 or 20 minutes of giving a shit out there and showing an effort. Actually play like your in the best junior league in the world. Play with some pride and confidence, and mostly our teams best players needs to be just that tonight, Difference makers and we havent seen that yet but tonight that NEEDS to happen for this score to be in our favour.

Good Luck Spits!

That was such an unnecessary shot, too. Peer's coming off of the bench; what's the point of touching him?
It was slick, I think he thought no one would see. Smooth… but dirty as heck. 5, Game, League review, repeat offender could change this series quick.

Hope Peer learned how to sell from his time with Rhyno… he looked out of it. Hope he’s okay.

Kitchener obviously trying to bully this game. SPITS need to play hockey as we don't have the guns to fight back. Could be a long game if the refs don't take control early
