Renwick is badly hurt. Shouldnt even be playing from my info.

Always applauded a kids desire to play. But if true, the team needs to step in and say no. As important as it is to the players you need a system (org. values n trusting the training staff) that protect them from themselves, parents, coaches.( I've dealt with all 3 in the past bith in positive and negative scenarios)
If playing is a just a pain tolerance and no potential for making the injury worse its on the player to determine tolerance to pain and the coaches to manage effectiveness on ice. If its a case of the injury could be made worse playing, I'm a supporter of staff making the choice for the players health. Just my background. Hopefully he is good to go and just dealing with pain.

I'm not sold yet the Spits sre done but admittedly haven't watched the games. Just highlights. Those here have better insight. Things can flip quick in a series.

He's clearly playing injured, no doubt. DeAngelis as well, he didn't play nearly as much as usual. No excuses though, they couldn't generate any grade A scoring chances all night. Most players were completely lost out there.

Looking around the league even Guelph, OS, Mississauga, and Hamilton have been more competitive than the Spitfires. What an embarrassment. Some of this is on the coaching. With Onuska in net in game 3, they will have to somehow score 6-8 goals to have a chance to win. Need guys like Harrison, Maillet to come out of hiding and compete.

While I see your point regarding Onuska, and as I have mentioned before I haven't been reluctant to share my views on Onuska and his play most of this current season however a couple of things, assuming he plays Tuesday night at Kitchener because I am a Windsor fan 1st above any player I want him and the team to play well and win.
Secondly with Onuska from Waterloo, having success there when he was younger,he was in goal last year and went 4-1 in the playoffs,2-1 regular season, and then this year despite his struggles to keep the puck out most nights he was 3-0 against them,so 9-2 the last 2 years, here is his chance ,team needs to be much better and Onuska needs to get his game back, if he and team wins he starts again Thursday, let get the 1st game win here Tuesday, and worry about Thursday after ,bottom line I want this team to win and if he is a part of it works for me.
I am hoping being from near there will work in his and the teams favor.

I agree, I also want the team to win and would be happy for the young man if he is in the net in the victory. Buuut of any goalie that has played more than 30 games, the only goalies that have worse numbers than him are Niagara and Erie's goalies... the two worst teams in the league. Like I said they'll have to score 6-8 to win this game. He is easily beaten on random shots from the top of the circle, is always out of position leading to empty nets tap ins, and rarely makes a big save when needed. His being from the Waterloo area means absolutely nothing.

The one thing Onuska has going for him - he was pretty darn impressive last season against them in the playoffs. He also did well in Kitchener earlier this season. Given his mediocre track record in the second half, I'm not expecting miracles, but if the team plays like they should, I'm not too stressed.

Best coaches in this league or really any league of any Sport can have a different team or look out there every game if needed. Might be the same players iced but gameplan and styles should be adjusted when needed. Our coaches need to adapt based on different playing styles or different situations. Kitchener has clearly done there due diligence this series and there Coaching staff come to work and has done there part on figuring out our teams tendencies. Now Savard and crew need to bring something else here. Same game plan as the last two games and we will be done 3-0 period. I'd be preaching hit everything that moves, be aggressive, lots of quality shots needed and the biggest thing is play like you want it!!. If your going to potentially lose this series go down hitting and battling hard.

Sounds simple.
However they didn't hit all year.
Why would they change now?

I'd never want to burst our own bubble but like everyone has said, there is a reason Kitchener is 8th. That being said, I don't think we have ever seen them play like this, so I honestly can't comment on what will happen next. I just know this season has been a nightmare rollercoaster. 4 straight from Windsor wouldn't surprise me, however whatever Kitchener is doing right now kinda is surprising (althoughwas expected months ago). I really don't know what will happen games 3 and 4, but I'm so down for whatever it is. Finally some excitement. Hope to see a bunch of Spits fans at the Aud this week. LOTS of tickets left.
I was planning to come out this week, but after the first two games, I decided Flint is closer than Kitchener. Plus this way I won’t have a long angry drive home if the Spits continue the way they’ve played this series… plus with Onuska starting? I’m good.

If we can stretch this to a Game 6 on Easter I’ll head up.

Flint/Saginaw will provide me a rough playoff hockey game, where the cares I give only lean a bit towards Sagnasty. Lol

I’ll put the Spits on TV, that way I can just turn it off and go about my day if the first 20 minutes resemble the last 6 periods lol

Agreed. The second we put in Onuska In, I was ready to send out the Cage line to goon it up. Make em feel it. I’m not saying let’s go take a guy out, but bounce some bodies around, give the crowd a reason to hope for a game 5

Again I've only seen highlights so you all will have a better feel.
But taking runs to try n make hits can leave a team positionally challenged while defending and it breaks down quick( only going by posts here but thst sometimes seems a challenge) . Totally agree playing hard n physical along the boards, F1 on forecheck, blocking shots, protect the blue ice but against a team with high end skill ya pick spots and play D as a 5 man unit forcing a team to the outside and protect the middle of the ice both in the nuetral zone and D zone.
No matter who is net plug up the dots in n make em shoot into pads.
Lots of time to review the tapes n see where the breakdowns were.
Quality dumpins into space may also allow F1 n F2 to create a solid forecheck n turnovers ( if that's an issue- carrying pucks in without speed or #s.) If they can find a way to play fast thru the bluelines the O will be there. Speed thru the nuetral zone leads to offense.
On the other side quick puck retrieval n quick ups to Fs dropping a touch further down may ease a quick transition.
Kitchener looks to be working hard back in puck pursuit. ( again just highlights)

The game is over before it started with the backup starting this game. I’m not even going to watch this one. Savard will be out-coached badly again. This will go down as one of the most embarrassing series in Spitfires history .

I'll bet ya tune in ;)

Cause it's probly needed, the wink shows it ain't personal.

You gotta go to O. Nature of the beast. Very short leash tho. I still dont think the Spits can play with kitch playing this style of hockey. That hurts to say. At the end of the second i told those near me if i was kitch coach id layoff scoring and most of the body. It forces windsor to start O and it eases player’s memory of getting hit. That plays right into next games game plan. Im still very disappointed in BB! This was easily predicted by a few of us and its happening. My mom….lol said, you predicted exactly this the week after trade deadline. Little toughness, less physicality, terrible team D …. Everyone better be seriously concerned and unfortunately your going to have to pull out all the stops way to early in a playoff run!!

Now, imagine hearing this stuff since (roughly) the 10 min mark of the first period in Game 1!?! Yep. The team has issues; not a soul is going to deny that. But, man, the ankles being bent and snapped is downright impressive.

Some fans swing from 1 extreme to the other pretty quickly.
Some dig into a position and wont budge, despite reality.
Most enjoy hockey and are realistic.

Let’s hope this ref crew of Hutchinson and Wilson doesn’t make it up to Kitchener tomorrow.

They’re finding every way possible to make this game rely on special teams.

Yes, it’s a ref development league too but
Man, this isn’t rec hockey. They gotta use the best ones for playoffs. Yikes.

Nobody is jumping off the bandwagon, fact is this is an 'all-in season' and we are down 2-0 to an #8 seed. Not even competitive games yet in this series either, look like a Jr. B team. We all know the draft picks are slim to none, meaning no contending next season. So yeah, winning at least a few rounds was expected. Not sure why you expect people to be happy? Not over yet, but looking daunting considering the poor play and now a backup goalie.

Where did I say "be happy"? I've heard people say "we're done!", which seems extreme right now. They're down 2-0, not 4-0. Are there issues? Yes. Am I concerned? Not at this point. Breathe a bit.

Are those the confirmed refs this series? I fully expected Burchell to ref in Kitchener which would be an absolute nightmare for everyone.

Not concerned that a 1 seed that hasn't shown a pulse through 120 minutes of hockey against an 8th seed. When would be a good time to be concerned? Maybe when they are 1 second away from elimination?? Tell me how many 1 seeds have lost the first 2 games at home to an 8th seed and come back to win and get back to me.

Tell me how many 1 seeds have lost the first 2 games at home to an 8th seed and come back to win and get back to me.

1996-97 - the 1st ranked Ottawa 67's lost Games 1 and 2 to the fifth-ranked Belleville Bulls in the first round. They came back to win it before losing to the Gens in the final. While it wasn't 1 v. 8, the Bulls had 22 wins that season.

When will I be concerned? If they screw up Game 3. Yes, there are issues, and everyone (including the team) knows it. However, when the season is on the line and you need a win, this is the roster I'd want. There were two ugly losses but there's too much talent for me toss the season aside and focus on baseball. I'm not going to apologize for having some faith in them after all we've seen. This organization has made history before... so why not do it again?
