People read that play like the devil reads the bible. It was nothing to get upset over. Funniest hottakes here ever.
First he was to gassed to be able to hit with any power at all. Second he saw his fellow dude wich he could flip the puck to, without getting pinned to the boards. The pass was intercepted. So that he could have done better. If that pass had succeded he would have more ice to move in front of the net.

But he should not play with Tavares. Tavares makes him have to think to much. Nylander need faster going with the instinct players.

All I see is “blah blah blah”. The devil lol. There’s nothing to “read”, it’s self evident, stop being a hot take apologist, it’s embarrassing.

Willy is thinking of longevity and brain health. CTE is real people. Good for him? Not good for our success, but I wouldn't ask somebody to do work I wouldn't do. At the end of the day is your job worth CTE?

No one would care if it was a one off. It happens so often you could piece together enough clips to make a feature film of Willie's Fly Bys.

He was gassed. If not he would have run Cernak through the boards.
Like I said trading it to your own bias. This sequence he was not in the best position or strenghts to hit Cernak. Never said he would if he could. Just a bad clip to show anything.

The highlighting nothing is more embarrassing then any hit Nylander never made.

He didn't have to run him (that was more of a joke), just don't pull up or make it so obvious. Hopefully he is pissed off enough at the flack the video generated that he will bring his best game tomorrow night. If he mails it in again and they go on to lose the series, he'll be stamping his ticket out of town IMO.

The guy kneeling is the type of player(s) Dubas and Shanny think can win a SC.

You'd be right if this were a one-off play instead of a 6 year recurring theme.

And it's not just the forecheck that's pitiful. ISO on his D zone strong side puck attack, end of shift dump in effort, and his refusal to dig when he's gassed unless the puck goes north.

Unless you're a 100pt ice tilting force, it's inexcusable from a 26 year old, 6-7 year pro.

I remember Willie saying just last week he was watching tape of himself earlier in the season… to motivate where he needs to get back to.

Now he’s got a tape the whole world is watching… hope he plays like a man on a mission tomorrow.

It's funny. Nylander had a lousy game, but he also wasn't the only one in the core to have one that night. He also wasn't the reason the team lost either (the game was over after that 3rd goal) but 5 seconds at the end of an over minute long shift is what we'll end up obsessing over.

Nylander knows he needs to be better. He (like the rest of the team) needs to show that they can be. What I don't get is why he's getting flack for scoring two goals to bring the game to 2-5 with 8 minutes remaining.... If you want to be mad about the disgusting pulling of the chute that's makes sense, but why would you get on him for scoring 2 goals and bringing the game much closer than it was previously with ample time remaining? Those same people would be dragging him through the mud if he went pointless in 4 games. I guess it would have been better for Nylander to lose 7-3 scoring the first 2 goals of the game vs losing 7-3 scoring goals 6 and 7 of the game. Odd bunch. I'm noticing some names from the Willy Holdout era though so that adds a bit of sense to the issue.

That nylander play makes me embarrassed. Don't think ive ever seen that in the playoffs.

I would say I've been a Willy guy all these years, still believe in his upside and natural talent and like the player, but that's basically the hockey equivalent of grounds for dismissal. If MLSE needs to shakeup the core this year that clip puts him in the front the line to be moved. It's not the one play in isolation but just all the history. Kind of like Kadri's suspension vs DeBrusk. The straw that broke the camel's back.

Yeah I think many are coming around to this. Extremely talented player but we could fill holes in other areas and also a message needs to be sent that you don't float here without repercussions

I don't even know if I want to actually move him but he definitely put the for sale sign on himself with that and I think it will mark him as an easy scapegoat if management needs to sacrifice anyone. Tavares should be the first to go on merit though.
