Eklund is proving himself to be an important part of the next stage for the sharks, he is built for big games, may not be the face of the sharks but I could see him becoming a leader for the next wave of prospects kinda like hertl Ferraro did

He is surprisingly physical/scrappy. And he looks to have gained a lot of strength and tenacity.

Ekky has been fantastic this season, he really has taken another step and has been our best forward a lot of nights. I fell like this has been overlooked in all the love for our shiny new toys…

Eklund has been phenomenal. He’s so fun to watch. It’s really interesting to see his growth because he was really good at the end of the year last year but I think the confidence + a very obvious boost in strength has really helped him get to another level. He’s now both really evasive (it’s often wild to see him in a situation where he is being closed in on and has nowhere to go and then somehow slips by the attackers anyway) and gritty.
Someone mentioned this in the GDT but I do wonder if working out with Zetterlund the Swedish Tank has really helped him. Hopefully Smith joins those work outs.

Eklund drives in the lesson that players can add some muscle and learn to play physically. But you can't give guys hockey sense or hands.

The one part of his game I didn't see coming is how actively he is chirping and getting under players' skin at the net. He isn't shying away.

Watching them start developing chemistry and evade defenses is really something. They play kind of a similar game sometimes and I feel like their hockey sense really works well together.
I am fully expecting an Eklund-patented-pass-back-as-he’s-headed-behind-the-net to Celebrini for a goal in the next couple of games.

The guy is such a great player. I don't think we give him enough love. He does a lot of little things right defensively. Offensively he can pass, shoot, or create opportunities. My only "gripe" is he constantly does the same spin/deke move, which is has become very predictable, but he's still pretty effective despite that.Ekky has been fantastic this season, he really has taken another step and has been our best forward a lot of nights. He unfortunately is getting discarded by some of the fanbase like in Toy Story. Hes not the shiny new toy anymore but he’s proving that he should’ve been drafted much higher

IIRC, he was considered a steal on draft day. Now he's finally living up to that potential. I'm glad we've finally got a pretty stacked group of young players like him. Teams win with players like Eklund.

That spin move will work consistently in the nhl. His edges are elite. He’s going to have to rely on that. His hands are ok. His shot is mediocre. But he consistently puts up points from his edge work. Would be lethal if he developed a better shot

Agreed! Every time I'll say "oh no...", because it's so predictable. Then more often than not, he actually pulls it off.
No arguments here. I'd say he's "good, but not great" at most aspects of the game. That's good enough for me. He's a likeable player that pays attention to the little details. He should be a huge part of our future.
