William Eklund

Sarcasm?

Personally, I'd have taken Zetterlund over Arvidsson due to style of play and anticipated decline, but Arvidsson is a proven 60-point scorer. Nyquist had, what, 80 points for Nashville last season?

There's an argument for Eklund over Carlson, but the latter is almost certainly the future face of Swedish hockey, while Eklund will likely be the neck. I understand getting Carlson in for a quaternary role over Eklund.
I mean, Nyquist is a peculiar choice because while he did that well last year, this year he has 10 points in 26 games and is a -14. He's also 35 and it's unlikely he'll be a part of their Olympics squad, so it feels especially bizarre to choose a guy like that for a silly little tournament where someone like Eklund could be brought into the fold (even if he sat the games out, it would be good for him with 2026 in mind).
