LD Lane Hutson - Montreal Canadiens, NHL (2022, 62nd, MTL) - Part 2

When everything is said and done there's a good chance both Lidstrom and Makar will be considered top 5 dmen ever. Hutson does not need to be Makar to be considered a better player than Michkov lol. What is going on in here.

He has the same amount of assists as Makar and more than Hughes and Werenski. His assist total is similar to that of Lidstrom. The point is obvious, he’s likely not that good. Don’t think that’s a stretch.

I don't think Hutson is getting a major amount of luck, he's got an all situations PDO of 100.4 which is pretty much average.

I don't really think it's ridiculous to think Hutson has more development in him either. He's been improving constantly throughout the year (Aside from some fatigue in late January and before the 4 Nations), and has been downright dominant at both ends of the ice since the 4 Nations break.

I love Michkov too and agree that he has Kucherov upside, but I don't see any reason to discount Hutson reaching that level, especially when his league leading slot passes start going to guys like Demidov instead of guys like Armia.
More so fortunate for getting so many secondary assists. Makar plays on a better team but has a lot less secondary assists and obviously is more the reason why the team scores. I don’t see that translating year over year, let alone next year.

In the end, Hutson likely is not a 70 pt forward again but looks great and is very good. Michkov may be a 90-100 pt player and looks great and is very good but likely ends up on another level than Hutson.

You honestly think this is Hutson’s peak? That’s what you’re seriously going with? Insane levels of cope

Hutson will never be a 70 pt forward because he's a defenseman lol. As for the disproportionate secondary assists, it could just as easily be argued that he's been getting unlucky considering he leads the league in completed slot passes, guys just haven't been finishing when he sets them up.

This is not a fluke , just need to look at his NCAA totals. He has been producing special numbers for a while.

He is also very smart and has a vast array of moves wich are balanced for the most parts. His shot is a bit weak I could see him improve on it but hes pretty good at sending tippable shots. Vision IQ and puck handling is top notch.

Don’t think hes a player that can be easily figured out , I expect long term success barring injuries.
